THE WALKING DEAD Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins WATCHMEN Co-Star Malin Akerman In RAMPAGE

Looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to go from playing a monster to fighting them, as he's signed on to star alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Malin Akerman in the Rampage movie.

Fresh from narrowly escaping Alexandria in one piece on this past Sunday's season finale of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be swapping the barbed-wire baseball bat for a suit, as Deadline reports that the actor has signed on to play a government agent named Russel in San Andreas director Bran Peyton's adaptation of the Midway arcade game, Rampage.

Morgan will join an already very impressive cast which includes Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, and fellow Watchmen alum Malin Akerman as the antagonist.

Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know the movie will feature the giant gorilla, wolf and crocodile from the popular game, with Johnson's "animal-loving" character attempting to halt their path of destruction.

Rampage is set to smash into theaters on April 20 of next year.

Dammit, with this cast i'm going to have to see it. Big fan of Dwayne, even in his clunkers, but JDM is severely underrated and glad that his Negan role has put him in a bigger spotlight. Will see any movie with him in it, or TV show.

This better not make people hate monster movies with all the upcoming Godzilla films...

After a hard day's work I like to unwind by dressing up as Godzilla and wrecking the joint!

The movie that keeps on limping.

When they're making schlocky King Kong and soon Godzilla movies, what is the point of Rampage?

To anyone who's read about the guy, and knows about him, I thought he was an absolute ass, and that's why they kicked him off Supernatural, or he didn't want to come back, said it wasn't good enough for him? Also heard there were issues on the Good Wife, but who cares about that lol

I want to like him, I really do, but he really behaves super cocky and jaded in each and every role, which generally means he's not acting that much and that's just who he is, I don't know.

@Asturgis - Really he always seems like a nice guy, all the walking dead cast seem to like him. Paul rudd and him actually bought and own a candy store that was there freinds after he passed away, to keep it from going out of business.

Dwayne Johnson has made many a crappy film thoroughly enjoyable, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a legend, and giant gorillas are the [frick]ing best. I'm in. Giant lion would be cooler than a wolf though. Giant lion vs giant gorilla.... someday I'll see it on film...

Crocodile? He is supposed to be a Dinosaur/Lizard/Godzilla monster. I guess they are changing it for the movie so that it doesn't seem like a Godzilla ripoff.
