I recently started watching Disney XD's latest animated superhero show, Max Steel, which began it's run last year. While it hasn't been the best, it has been pretty entertaining, and the movie looks interesting. 5 few stills have hit, featuring the main hero Maxwell McGrath, as well as the film's synopsis. You can take a look below, then let us know your thoughts in the usual place!

Max Steel is an in-depth “origin” story packed with captivating characters and fast-paced action. The plot chronicles the adventures of Max McGrath and his mother have just moved back to Copper Canyon, the town in which Max’s scientist father died in a mysterious accident shortly after Max was born. As Max adjusts to his new school, things get complicated when his body starts to generate strange energy flare-ups that he can’t control.

At first a confusing mix of inconvenient and exhilarating, this unpredictable power eventually grows too intense for Max to handle, causing him to distance himself from those around him including the girl he likes, Sofia. Eventually the energy pushes him to the verge of fatal combustion. In the nick of time, a techno-organic extraterrestrial named Steel, who has been secretly monitoring Max’s progress, saves him just before he loses consciousness. The two discover that when joined together they can control the energy and harness it into superhuman strength – and that when apart, neither can survive for long.

As these two unlikely friends learn to accept their connected fates, they begin to uncover secrets surrounding the death of Max’s father. As they dig deeper, they soon find themselves hunted by an unforeseen enemy bent on capturing Max and Steel for a sinister agenda of destruction. Uncertain who to trust, they will have to work together to find the truth, and fight the mysterious forces threatening our world.

The show is decently entertaining from the few episodes I have seen not really sure it deserves a movie. The first season and 9 ep of season 2 are on Netflix streaming if you want to watch them. Also is this a theatrical release or is this a t.v. movie ala the Ben 10 live action movies? If this is a theatrical released films it looks bad because all of these shots look like a t.v. movie. If it is a t.v. movie they look decent the suit looks good for the most part.

@AxeEffect

It is a purely CG animated show in the same stream as the Green Lantern cartoon. Story wise it is almost a copy of Ben 10 in that a human teenager comes into possession of an alien device, sentient here, that gives him a battle armor that can change into a multitude of different battleforms. Flight, super speed, super strength, cloning, etc... There are of course changes but it has a lot of similarities with Ben 10 if you ever saw that cartoon.

Don't want to be a pain, but Andy Garcia didn't come around till the Godfather Part III.

@Nemeres

Yeah, Andy Garcia wasn't in the phenomenal Godfather II, he was in the disappointing Godfather III.

Really hoping that's just a typo.

Not the first Max Steel cartoon--that aired in the early 2000's.

The current Max Steel cartoon is a reboot of a cartoon that was on in the 90s. It was one of the first 3D animated cartoons.

They made this film 10 years too late. Should've had James Avery in it too.
