Laurence Fishburne, who is most widely known for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy, will be battling our favorite alien hunters in Predators.

ShockTillYouDrop.com reports that Laurence Fishburne ("CSI," "The Matrix" trilogy) has joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez's Predators, now filming in Austin, Texas under the direction of Nimrod Antal.



Fishburne is playing a character named Roland in the film. He joins a cast that includes Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins and Alice Braga.

Awesome casting choice! Hopefully his character's name lives up to the gunslinging legend of Roland in Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

I still remember Fishburne from a minor role in one episode of M*A*S*H when I was a kid. He was playing a wounded soldier who reluctantly told the doctors about how his racist C.O. was sending black troops into high-risk areas as his way of weeding out the men he didn't want in his unit. He had a presence about him back then that made me think he was going somewhere with his career.

OMG I never thought of Fishburne being Jonn Jonnz. That would be kick @$$. I really would want to see Manhunter in a movie he is one of my most beloved members of JLA along with Hal and Batman. And if GL does really well which I know it will, I think we will see alot more alien DC heroes like Jonzz and Lobo.

the matrix was probably the more enjoyable role of Fishy. It just dawns on me him being a bit too oldish for a role where he has to take on Predators? I don't know. Not too hyped over this movie. I would have preferred predator showing up in Iraq/Afghan and taking out Taliban and Special Forces. I like the idea of the details about the predators remaining beyond our reach? Like each new movie kind of exposes more and more about them, such as, in Predator when Danny gets the 411 from the guys hunting predator. I'd prefer a special forces briefing where some top secret intel is laid down to a group of military badass's when skinned bodies start turning up throughout Baghdad. Guess we'll see...

Mr Fishburne is the SILVER SURFER in the Fantasic 4 movie, He'll make mincemeat out of the predator ....

Fishburne needs to stick to dramas he's not an action guy never has been. These last few years seems like he needs to focus on defeating that late night cheeseburger, before he jumps into an action role fighting space aliens.

Fishburne was good in Deep Cover, Boyz in the Hood,and his spot on CSI. His last two Matrix films where he looked like he was ready to give birth to a baby calf... didnt do it for me.

Danny Glover v.s. Alien or Predator whatever it was sucked BIG time. Danny Glover's best work in my opinion was those lame lethal weapons he did with Mel Gibson. Some guys are just not action stars regardless of their acting ability. Fishbourne and Glover fall into that catagory now Snipes and Micheal Jai White are action men.

Fishburne prove himself he can do some action in the Matrix movies and its kind of unfair to say he should only stick to drama. i agree Snipes and Micheal Jai White are action stars but they under the rader in Hollywood they need to do a successful movie once again for the film studios to hire them.
