Following their surprising release date announcement, Paramount+ has shared the official trailer for Antoine Fuqua's upcoming sci-fi action thriller Infinite, which stars 2x Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter; The Departed) in the lead role as Evan McCauley.

The film, which once had Chris Evans (Avengers: EndgameCaptain America) attached, is an adaptation of D. Eric Maikranz's 2009 novel The Reincarnationist Papers, and was actually slated to open in theaters last September before being indefinitely delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It was then rumored for a Paramount+ debut before the streaming service made it official earlier this week.

In addition to Wahlberg, the cast features Chiwetel Ejiofor as Ted, Sophie Cookson as Tammy, Dylan O'Brien as Heinrich Treadway, Rupert Friend as Bathurst, Jason Mantzoukas as Peabody, Liz Carr as Garrick, Toby Jones as Kent, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Kovic, Tom Hughes as Abel, Wallis Day as Shin, and Kae Alexander as Trace.

Infinite premieres exclusively on Paramount+ on June 10.

For Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg), skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited haunt his daily life. Self-medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, Evan is sought by a secret group that call themselves “Infinites,” revealing to him that his memories may be real—but they are from multiple past lives.

This looks dumb. Maybe a second trailer will add to the anticipation, but this looks super generic. If reincarnation is the theme, you have to give me something more substantial as a hook… instead it looks very generic.

This looks so dumb. It’s a Wahlberg film so that makes sense.

Neat poster but Wahlberg has no gravitas. He's paper thin. Premise and execution seem solidly B grade.

Anybody else notice they ripped off Lost with the whole “which one of these is yours?” bit? Unless Lost ripped it off too, lol.
