The new "V" can't touch the original 4-hour miniseries from 1983 that launched the whole thing, but I have to say they've done an excellent job of modernizing the approach for today's audience. Looking forward to season two.

I could only make it through the first few episodes of V. The story was way too rushed for me. There was no build up. There was no development or build-up. Halfway into the first episode they were already at odds fighting the aliens. It wasn't a good sign for me, so I walked away from it.

Love Baccarin! Prefer her as a brunette though. Women (or guys) shouldn't mess with their hair color like that. You have your natural hair color for a reason. Highlights are okay and a few can pull off the complete different color, but Morena isn't one of them.

ROMACK
ROMACK - 8/19/2010, 2:29 PM
I have a thing for Hispanic women so I tend to lean toward brunettes. I think Morena is much more gorgeous as a Brunette. Even if blonds do have more fun!

KickUrBooty - 8/19/2010, 2:35 PM
Boy what a bunch of childish nerds you dudes are, all of that bullsh!t coming out of your mouths, "I'd do her" and all of that non-sense. Well newsflash, she wouldn't do you!!! Who gives a rat's a$$ about what color hair she has. Question, can she act?? She does fine; I've watched her in Firefly and V and she's not bad. She would make a pretty good Wasp. I personally prefer her hair brunnette but it's not up to me; hair color has nothing to do with your personality.

Sheve 'em both, draw in what you want. Pro'lem solved.

Blondes are quiet a thing of the past. I reckon most men prefer brunettes these days.
However I am staying true to the fabulousness of the Marilyn Blonde bombshell appeal. Its really handy, you can't act dumb to get your own way, you can't pull this off as well if you're brunette. Blonde is POWER!
As for not dying your natural hair.....PAH, my natural colour is dull dull dull...mousey non event brownish blondish crapness. There is no excuse not to fabulise yourself when ever appropriate. Most women dye their hair, it just adds richness and tone......and I'm on the wrong site....better go over to vouge...sorry....
ROMACK
ROMACK - 8/19/2010, 2:41 PM
Ceghead@ Yeah but blond works well for you! I myself am plain lite brown with alot of silver highlights! LOL
Ceghead
Ceghead - 8/19/2010, 2:44 PM
@ROMACK ahhh the silver fox look eh? tres en vouge :) ...seriosuly...i should stop talking hair and highlights on a comic site!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 8/19/2010, 3:02 PM
KickUrBooty @ Easy there trigger...we are all stating our opinions and no one said it has anything to do with personality (outside of the cliche' "blondes have more fun"), but it does have a lot to do with looking natural on the big screen. That's why you don't see many actors or actresses doing too many dramatic hair color changes on the big screen.

ceghead@ I guess I am developing the silver fox look as well. Dark hair with the silver highlights. Wouldn't want it any other way. ;-)
Ceghead
Ceghead - 8/19/2010, 3:10 PM
@Ranger14 it's a great look. IMO, men should totally embrace the grey, hell look at George Clooney!
and in response to the hair for the screen thing! yeah i totally agree, gotta look natural but hey, that's what wigs, wefts adn weaves are for!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 8/19/2010, 3:23 PM
ceghead@ Glad you like the distinguished look. ;-)

The challenge with changing hair color is that everyone has a natural palette and the hair matches the skin tone of that palette. If you change the hair color, then you have challenges with the skin tone not looking natural with the hair. Then you mess around with makeup and it all gets convoluted. I digress, but I used to work in the television and film acting arena and dealt some with color analysis, makeup, wardrobing, etc. The overall image is very important and typically they don't want to mess around too much with changing the color of hair. It's better to cast someone who has the look they want.
ROMACK
ROMACK - 8/19/2010, 3:33 PM
I love my silver. I sarted being noticably grey when I was 24. Chicks dig it!
Ceghead
Ceghead - 8/19/2010, 3:34 PM
Ranger14 are you a guy? if so, that's fabulous! Men that understand the great complexities of hair and complexion, even down to the shade of eyeliner :)
tis an art to understand. Thats sounds like an incredible job!

Yeah I understand the casting thing. But thankfully, wigs, wefts and weaves also allow for actual acting talent to be a decider, rather than just a pretty face or the ability to carry off a catsuit!
Everyone in Hollywood is beautiful or can be made to look it, talent and skill however, are a rare commodity.
Oh god I sound old and whingey lol.

--edit--

wigs, wefts, weaves and SPANX! every girls best friend (also available for men)!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 8/19/2010, 5:39 PM
Yes, I am a guy and a straight one at that. ;-) I worked for a modeling and talent agency back in the late 80's teaching television and film acting. I also taught makeup, wardrobing, photographic and runway courses. I learned how to do the whole color analysis, which is a fascinating thing when you understand how important color is for making you look your best. I was assistant director of the agency.

Old and whiney? You don't appear to be very old if that is you in your avatar. :-D

it is and I'm a great big whopping 27! The age of anti wrinkle cream starters and drawing lines on your self with a marker pen to highlight the areas where a surgeon should be consulted.
Oh that job sounds incredible! I could totally do with your help!

Ranger14 - 8/19/2010, 6:47 PM
A young pup still. :-) It looks like you have nothing to worry about in the aging department. ;-) The job was a lot of fun, but that was 20+ years ago. Not sure how much help I can offer now. I do know women love it when I go shopping with them. :-)

oh I need a man mate like that! One of my best man mates is a dream to shop with but he lives over seas :( I always think my girlfriends are too nice to say if something looks terrible or not lol. And the thread has now turned into Fashion Fix with Ranger and Ceg :D
