Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Vin Diesel also shared some new info regarding principal photography, saying that filming will begin soon:

"One of many Necro-armor designs... Haha, I had to share. It takes hundreds of artists to make a movie... I am excited about the work Our "Riddick" crew of artists, are doing right now in Canada. Their contributions is what will make this film.

P.s. Riddick starts principal photography in weeks... much to do, much to do... especially since it's "R"..."

There is still no release date for the film.

@hillbillyshadow

I think the ending to Chronicles of Riddick was done that way on purpose as sort of a homage to Conan.

Supposedly,Vin wants to do a movie about his character that he created while playing Dungeons and Dragons sometime in the future...I WOULD like to see a 'proper' movie from that property made..And until that Drizzt movie actually gets made instead of hinted at I'll keep an eye out for Vin's vanity project...

Both films were good in their own way. Pitch Black was my favorite but i liked the sequel as much as i liked Stallone's Judge Dredd which contrary to many, i thoroughly enjoyed (minus Schtapler). This concept art looks VERY similar to the sequel. I'm not sure the "R" rating will make it better for the people who didn't at least like the sequel.

Pitch Black was awesome, Chronicles of Riddick really sucked balls.

happy to see him back to Riddick, hope they can make up for the last one, which was bad but not great, which is could have been. Story sounds dope.

Happy to 3rd that remark, thsose two would be awesome in a gears of war movie, not sure who vin would play though? The rock should be in there too, he's a crap actor but you gotta admit he's at least built enough to play one of the characters, I think the gears movie should be animated though....

@Nuck love to see the movies you would be capable of doing....or the characters....

Mmm how about Bob the Builder? reckon you could pull that off. Yeh might be too hard for you to pretend to be a bite sized, expressionless kiddy character....
Though you certainly got the maturity to match Bobs fans...

am I the only one who won't ignore Knight3000's homage to himself??? Only giving props to Vin for "acknowledging his driving skills..." now Vin is worthy of Knight's praise?? FU. (though you may be cool...you sound self-centered)

Pitch Black was Awesome....Chronicles...was okay....but rushed...or crammed too much "history" into a short story...though I blessed you for introducing Alexis Davalos into my world... Call me Vin....I can help you fully succeed...if you do not have my number...your senses will deliver it.

Pitch Black was great, The Chronicle of Riddick had a great look and great action scenes but lacked a decent story.

@knight3000
You humbled me...and that is not sarcastic.

I am new to this medium and am truly not a hater...but many times there are douches who only seem to care of their pwn opinion...mostly only interested in reading their own posts....I mistook your post....now I realize if I met a star and interacted with them...I'd want to share that with others too.

Accept my apology to you or tell me to pack sand...but the apology is sincere...and more props to you for not just firing off a "kiss my arse" note to me...which would have been justied....by any other name.

Knight...you and me are cool! I love Sci-Fi and Comics...to the point that I want to give each film a try, in hopes that "they" will get it right. Sometime they do...many times they don't...but if you are truly a fan...you can't keep hating...else give up hope.

I was hesitant of the new Conan...but I was happy with the film...yes...it could have been better....BUT...not many films reach near perfection right? Momoa did Conan right (though he didn't seem big enough...til I saw the movie!!)

yeah...there are regulars here....you're one of the cool ones....though I'd survive if you told me to pack sand...you've got a perverbial friend for life due to your response bro. (bro-tear falling....)
