In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

wow. only 4 comments? I'm excited for this. I have full and complete faith in Neill.

District 9 was one of the most underrated sci-fi movies ever.

I will admit, the addition of Matt Damon might cause the casual fan to simply right this off as Bourne Iron Man (admittedly my knee-jerk reaction) but then I found out who was directing.

Plus I love the social commentary he imbeds into his pieces without coming off as pretentious.

I'm all in.

This looks incredible! I'm ignoring the "in your face social commentary" the commercials are displaying.

Don't get the "knee-jerk reaction" to Matt Damon* starring in this film at all; saw Team America in the theater 3 times.

Starting to get excited for this after that clip!

*must have been something that doesn't have to do with filmmaking execution from his past maybe IDK.

Blomkamp is bringing back gritty Old School Sci-Fi ala Blade Runner and Total Recall, and not the super slick CGI video game cut scenes that pass as Sci-Fi today. Can't wait for this.

At least it is an original film and not a reboot of something...
