An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Oscar® nominee Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai, Inception), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Oscar® winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Cosmopolis), and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), with Oscar® nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck., The Bourne Legacy) and Bryan Cranston (Argo, TV's Breaking Bad).

@GUNSMITH

Flying Muto, dude. THERE ARE NO OTHER TOHO KAIJU IN THIS FILM.

Better you know now, then when you go and see the film and unfairly judge it because it didn't live up to your misinformed expectations.

ok I get building up to GZ but if your going to do that then don't give away all the good stuff in the trailers. the only reason I have to see this now is for the atomic breath and that is no reason to spend money to see this.

now if any of you can convince me otherwise please go ahead because this is bumming me out

At the end of the day the milestone Godzilla films have ALWAYS been about the people first. The first movie incorporated elements of the real life tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki into the story (the footage of the victims of Godzilla's attack was actual footage from those events). The monster was secondary to that human element. The same is true of Godzilla 1985. In that film the effects of Godzilla on the world were more important than Godzilla himself. Godzilla's actions almost ignited a war between the US and Russia. Those elements serve to elevate Godzilla's presence. The movies that followed could be sillier because that first movie gave Godzilla his mark. Godzilla '85 did the same thing for the next 20 years worth of movies that followed.

So if you're complaint is that there's too much emphasis on the people or that there isn't enough Godzilla then you either haven't watched those films or weren't paying attention. It's pretty clear that Godzilla '54 and '85 are the tone they're going for here. And that's the right move.
