When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes — a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman. The film is set to hit theaters July 12th.

I still prefer the banner with Striker Eureka. This one is kinda lazy, they used the same Kaiju (Otachi) but just put Coyote Tango there in place of Striker.

@R888 No, Brawler Yukon is the first Jaeger that was made in 2015. Although Horizon Brave and Coyote Tango were made later that same year after Brawler defeated the Kaiju named Karloff.

This site has a problem. Some freak who thinks he's funny. Now luckily there's not a problem in the world, that can't be solved with a little bit of money. Tonight we all win. One of you will get 50 million dollars. And the rest? Well we get Adam Sandler. I don't care who does it, I don't care how they do it. I just want Sandler.

Bomb of the summer is more likely. GDT will keep his streak alive of box office mediocrity or failure. Too bad for the big guy

@TheHeat

speak for yourself, I'm anticipating this more than I was anticipating IM3 and MoS combined.

@Spidey91

Are you the general audience? If it so "highly anticipated", then why is it projected to only make $30M on their opening weekend? That's White House Down opening.

I've seen MOS 3 times and had to sit through the trailers for this. The trailer song rocks, but this movie looks as uninteresting as Battleship or After Earth. Michael Bay has pretty much killed the action genre, especially anything involving giant robots. Transformers happened and then studios started green-lighting these $220M robot movies. I don't get it. This could be the best script ever written for an action movie and I still wouldn't be interested in watching robots fight monsters.I just don't get it. If Superman can't get traction at the BO, this movie has no chance. This will disappoint at the BO even it's story is solid.
