Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 1 was released finally on dvd back on August 21, 2012 just in time for it's 20th anniversary. 20 years, has it really been that long? I remember sitting down with my brother and watching the very first episode the Saturday that it debuted thinking that it was just going to be a live action Voltron rip off. However, The first episode got us along with thousands of other kids hooked. Though it's popularity sky rocketed, you could never let anyone at school find out that you were a Power Rangers fan, otherwise you would be publicly made fun of by your peers.

With that being said, the new season of Power Rangers is set to begin in 2013. Power Rangers Megaforce is set to be based on Goseiger and will bring in elements from the original series, 5 teenagers with attitude will be chosen by the supernatural guardian Gosei to save the Earth with the help of his robot.

Megaforce has been confirmed for 22 episodes and a second season. According to samuraicast.com:

For centuries, groups of brave warriors known as Power Rangers have been called upon to protect our world from evil. Now, the future of humankind rests in the hands of a few ordinary teens with one extraordinary destiny. The 20th Season of Power Rangers will include flashbacks, weapons, and characters from previous seasons, and promises to be the most exciting season yet!

If they do bring back previous characters from other seasons then I hope two of them are Tommy and Adam. That will be awesome.

Most exciting season yet? Better than the first 5?!? I doubt it... They need better looking men to keep me hooked. lol

But if they're bringing back old characters then I'm in! Tommy is ripped now (he's and MMA fighter) so it'd be cool to see him like that but I'd really like to see Jason return. He's always been my favorite (and he was my first ever crush) but only if he gets himself back in shape. I've seen recent pics of him and they don't look too good. I know they're getting old but damn.

IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!!! SABRETOOTH TIGER!!!

Austin St. John who played Jason is now a paramedic and looks kinda chubby from the pictures I've seen online. They can't bring back the Green Ranger, because Thomas (the clone of tommy) took the green power coin back in time with him to Colonial times.

I gave up when I grew up... No sense of nostalgia, just pure stupidity. I'm just being realistic.

@lanternstorm: Autin St. John could always lose the weight and appear if they pay him enough. Both he and Tommy have played different rangers throughout the Power Rangers series. Tommy especially. Unfortunately we may just not be able to see the classic Green Ranger... He could always be the white ranger! Or another ranger, he was like 5! *rolls eyes*

I still don't understand why they don't do a prequel of the first rangers when Zordon first imprisoned Rita on the moon. I think that would be very interesting.

@julez I agree..I want to find out what started this all and the origin of the power rangers and zordon...or at least make it like inception where it's an infinite loop and know one knows the beginning hahah.

There is no chance of seeing Tommy in power rangers again...Jason David Frank is now a massive build tattoo covered MMA fighter...hardly child friendly...

Which is a shame cause he is the greatest ranger of all time!!!

Tommy already came back again in the Forever Red episode and then again a full two seasons of Dino Thunder! That was actually pretty cool.

@Dedpool: Yep... That was basically the last full season of Power Rangers that I watched. It was getting worse and worse with each passing season but Tommy's return made it more... watchable.

@neonrehan: I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! lol
