In his first interview since landing the part, six-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston shared a couple details on bringing Zordon to life in the upcoming Power Rangers movie! Check it out!
Last week, the internet rejoiced when news broke that Academy Award-nominee, Golden Globe winner, and six-time Primetime Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) had signed on to portray Zordon in Lionsgate's upcoming Power Rangers reboot. This move marks a return to the franchise for Cranston, who previously did voice over work for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series back in 1993.
While chatting with Entertainment Tonight, on the press tour for his upcoming release The Infiltrator, Cranston took a minute to share his excitement for the part and revealed a few details on the role Zordon plays in the film and in the lives of the Rangers. First off, he confirmed that we'll actually see him or at least a version of him in the film as he'll provide motion capture for Zordon in addition to providing the voice:
"Yes, it's motion capture and it's a lot of CGI-work. The tenant of that storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center], He still has a heart and mind, but an agenda that he's got to get these five Power Rangers to defend the earth or else everyone they know will be killed. So, it's exciting."

UPDATE: In a separate interview with Nuke The Fridge, Cranston explained why he decided to return to the franchise: "Yeah… I did voices. Dubbing voices for POWER RANGERS the series 35 years ago. But I can tell you… I would NOT have accepted the role if it was not for the script being so good. They have completely changed the tone. It is not the television series at all. It’s a fully realized updated reimagined approach to telling this SUPERHERO story. I haven’t done a superhero story and I was intrigued. I think this sounds interesting. Let’s try it!" Well, that's certainly great news. Could this film be one of next year's biggest surprises?
