Lionsgate Home Entertainment has officially announced that Power Rangers will arrive on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on June 27, which will be preceded by a Digital HD release on June 13.

Details on the bonus features and/or any potential special editions were not revealed at this time, but expect to hear something on that front by the end of the month, if not sooner.

The Dean Israelite-directed superhero movie was met with a mixed critical response, but received an extremely warm reception from fans, garnering an exceptional "A" CinemaScore. The film, to date, has earned over $84.2 million domestic, $134.7 million worldwide and still has two major international markets left on its calendar: May 12 in China and July 15 in Japan - two dates, which should ultimately determine whether Zordon's chosen five return for Round 2 and a likely bout with Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger.

Check out this new announcement trailer, which spotlights some of the film's best moments, below:

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

I don't know about anyone else but China and Japan are going to be the make or break team-up. Get ready folks.

So, they are releasing a HD copy of the movie BEFORE it opens in Japan? that's smart.

(don't know if you can tell, but I'm being sarcastic and that's actually not smart at all)

Its been a while since I've taken so much enjoyment in a movie failing! Boring as hell and I can't believe they were already planning on making like 5 of these. Goes to show nostalgia only gets you so far.

@MrNegative - Well, to be fair and honest, this was more for the money and for the new generation rather than nostalgia which is why its struggling.

Well, Logan and Power Rangers sure had short theatrical windows. Hopefully whatever it makes in China and Japan is enough to get a sequel greenlit. I enjoyed PR but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

Meh. It was okay. I'll be surprised if it gets a sequel. Saying that as a long time fan, regrettably.
