'Predators' Heads to the Jungles of Hawaii

20th Century Fox's "Predator" reboot/prequel "Predators" is looking to do a little shooting in the jungles of Hawaii. "Scouts for 20th Century Fox’s $40-million creature feature are back on the Big Island for their third week of scouting Hawaii most of it where a lot of jungles have been looked at.

The production would film for 18 days with an October start if the Hawaii portion is a go. That decision is expected to be made very soon…Some Hawaii production execs are being contacted about availability…" The creature feature is directed by Nimród Antal ("Vacancy") and begins filming September 28th at producer Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, TX. In this version, a group of humans will find themselves stranded on a planet home to Predators and must survive the horrors they encounter.

Nice, Hawaii should be a great place to film the movie. Look at Lost. Its filmed in Hawaii and it always has great jungle scenes so Predators should look awesome there

DDD @ HELL YEAH! Cant believe they are taking it to the HOME WORLD! When news came out they was doing a remake i was moaning about it saying HOME WORLD! Yeah i know its nothing to do with me lol, but its friggin' cool! I might forgive FOX for BORIGINS if this is sweet!

I can't wait for this movie. I hope they really recapture the spirit of the first Predator. I didn't really like the second one, and the AVP movies, we shouldn't even talk about them. I'm very excited to see the Predator home world.

@Deadpool, they could have some human astronauts on the first deep space voyage to the nearest star get caught in a worm hole and flung across space into the Predator's solar system and crash land on the Predator planet.

They could have some humans taken captive on a Predator ship to be taken to the Predator-world to be hunted 'cause the Preds are tired of hunting humans on their own planet.

There are tons of ways I could write it...I believe the scriptwriters will do a great job with their version. Bring on the Predator Planet! Yeah, Hoo-oo-oo-ooh!

I don't really like the idea of the movie taking place on another planet either. It just doesn't sound right to me.

I hope they don't plan on making the jungles of Hawaii the look of the predator homeworld. I know, I'm sure they wouldn't do that.

That would mean that there is going to be alot of CGI. The last 2 movies used very little CGI (obviously). I think that's what made them so good.


I still prefer the premise of a single predator hunting alpha-type humans for sport on OUR planet.
