Robert Rodrigiez's Troublemaker Studios are planning on shooting "Predators" on September 28th in Austin, Texas, where they are currently lensing Machete. Being helmed by Nimrod Antal ("Vacancy"), Bloody Disgusting has learned exclusively that they are currently seeking a "Black", "Asian", "Russian," and "Latino" marine.

Apparently in this version, a group of humans will find themselves stranded on a planet home to Predators and must survive the horrors they encounter. So far so Aliens. Judging by that and the name of the movie, that's obviously the vibe they are going for.

Yeah I love the first Predator movie so much. That bad boy is a modern classic no doubt! Which is why I am befuddled about why they would want to Re.. ummmmmm start a new franchise. Yeah that's it.. ;-)

I live in California, where Arnold is Governor (Governator). He made a campaign pledge that he wouldn't film any new movies while in office, so it's unlikely that he will be in it. However, they could use old footage of him...

@brent, he also said that before he appeared in Terminator Salvation.

If Robert Rodrigiez can put together a cast like he has in Machete this movie could be the predator movie we have been waiting for.

@ the answer

the first was terrible!!! but then again it was pg-13. that's why they made the 2nd so shockingly gory. they really are two completely different movies. i thought the 2nd was a million times better.

Dellamorte@ There has not been a good Hudsonesqe character in a long time. Bill Paxton needs to go back to his roots.

Corndog @ Yeah i know lol, i meant the home world for the new movie, when they was saying they was doing a REBOOT/MAKE of the first movie, i said stick some humans on their home planet for a laugh lol, though seriously no human is gonna last long on their world?!!
WulfComicFan
WulfComicFan - 8/14/2009, 3:41 PM
@ Thecritic, It was pretty good. They took it into Los Ageles, and Kevin Peter Hall once again, and for the last time, took up the Predator mantle.

Man I wish That guy hadn't died. He soooo made the Predator real. They all seem lacking, and SHORT since he has been gone.

@ Captainamerica, I don't really see it as a cameo, as he had filmed the footage many many years ago, and just stuck it in there and spruced it up some. That's like saying Marlon Brando had a cameo in Superman Returns, even though he was dead.

@ Keven, you're right, Blaine was the shyte in that movie. I always liked his character better than Dutch.

I always wanted Dark Horese to do their Schaffer arc. For those who don't know, Schaffer was Dutch's lil brother.

@ LEEE, your are right. Just remember the ship in the 2nd one, how hot it was, Kerrigan could barely function in that, and according to the comics, their world is way hotter than our own. They would need some type of heat resistant suit.
whatsinthebox
whatsinthebox - 8/14/2009, 3:49 PM
Good point LEEE:Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham fought only ONE Predator. You would have to be pregnant or sick to make it past the opening credits.
