According to ERC Box Office, Warner Bros. has slated a new release date for its upcoming sci-fi film Transcendence: April 18th, 2014. Originally set for an April 25th debut, the new date moves the Johnny Depp-starrer further from the sure to be smash The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (which bows May 2nd that year). The film (which will be executive produced by Christopher Nolan) marks the directorial debut of Oscar winning cinematographer Wally Pfister (Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy), and plot details are currently kept under wraps.

Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Cole Hauser (who was seen earlier this year in A Good Day To Die Hard and Olympus Has Fallen) is the latest addition to the impressive cast, which also consists of Paul Bettany, Cillian Murphy, Rebecca Hall and Morgan Freeman. According to the site, the actor will play "a military officer called upon to save the world." Transcendce is scheduled to begin production next month. Do you plan on seeing this film?
