Yes indeed, the man who would be everyone(if some people on CBM had their way!) really wanted to go nuts down under.

You have to laugh really. After being fan casted for practically every role going, and starring in no less than four big upcoming sci-fi themed movies, the one role that actually seems perfect for Worthington passes him by. After director George Miller revealed that he wants to keep Mad Max: Fury Road distinctly Australian in setting and tone, people rightfully thought "Get Worthington--at least he won't have to worry about his accent!

Talking to the Daily Telegraph, Worthington had this to say:

"Like Eric (Bana), I've never been approached, I would have loved it. From what I've heard, it's going to be amazing."

Miller eventually signed British actor Tom Hardy (Bronson, Inception) to play Max. "I'm sure George (Miller) has his reasons. He's obviously got his own ideas about the type of guy he wants,"



Hardy is pretty good. But I can't help feeling Worthington, or indeed Bana, should have at least got a look. They both seem like the type of guys that would relish playing such an iconic Aussie.

Even though Gibson's a native New Yorker, up until recent years I had always viewed him as an Aussie. I think that role is so iconically Australian it should have gone to one of them like Whisperington. He wouldn't have had to poorly fake any accents!

but in all fairness worthington could not have played this role well. has anyone seen the australian movies he was in? he's crap. do not know how he got a break in the states when all he had to show them were his crappy aussie movie roles.

Guys, give Worthington a break. He was good in "MacBeth". He just hasn't got a good role in an American film yet. Don't get me wrong, he did good in Terminator Salvation but the whole movie was crap and Camron should have came back. Maybe they should have left the topless scene in and made it a better movie.

This new "Mad Max" is going to suck sweaty donkey balls and blow chunks . I think it would've been cool to see an older battle hardened Mel Gibson wreaking havoc . Shave his head bald and throw in a salt and pepper goatee , old school killin' .

I watched "Mad Max" the other day on ENCR. This was the one with the original voices.

The story, the look, the characters......all have stood the test of time.

The movie is one of my favorites and is truly one of the greats.

On MadMaxMovies.com, Charlize Theron is supposedly signed on for this.

Well since Jensen Ackles is already a 6'1" blonde built american in his early thirties with a deep voice and a commanding presence and on top of that, kicks ass at the drop of a dime, that pretty much makes tiny Whisperingtonaussie his bitch in regards to being Captain America.

Colin Farrell is the only choice to play Mad Max if they were going to reboot. He's Gibson in every way and with more attitude. Far better choice than Worthingless.

I have to agree with ya'lls fan cast here. Bana and Worthington have much more charisma for the role than Hardy. Oh well, I hope Miller pulls off a good film. The Road Warrior is a very dear film to me. Ol' Mel is just gone way to shithouse rat crazy to work with these days. He also would command a very high salary for such a project.
