Samuel L. Jackson On New STAR WARS Movies; Wants To Return As Mace Windu

An actor from the previous movies expressing interest in returning is nothing new or surprising, but the Avengers actor has some interesting ideas about how his character - Jedi master Mace Windu - could come back. A "one-armed ghost" perhaps?..

Of course you wouldn't expect to hear the word "no" from any actor when asked if they'd be interested in a role in a new Star Wars movie, but Samuel L. Jackson seems genuinely stoked for the news of another trilogy (at least) heading our way. In Revenge Of The Sith his character had his arm severed by Anakin Skywalker before being force-lightninged out a window by The Emperor, but I guess he could have survived? Anyway, the actor doesn't seem bothered about the manner of Master Windu's return - live, dead, or hologram!

"I'm not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It's like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die."

Jackson was then asked if he would definitely be up for coming back and responded, "Hell yeah! I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don't care, I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won't because I've been in three of them." I actually thought Windu was a pretty useless character in the prequels, but I'm sure with some better material Jackson could bring him to life properly. Would you like to see him return? Sound off below.

Mace Windu was cool as hell. Only guy in the movies who could pull off a purple lightsaber that was mostly covered in gold.

That said, he should stay dead.

I would think he would get his arm back in the jedi afterlife.. Like what if you were chopped into pieces when you die, do you continue to look like a pile of rubbish?

No prequel actors should return, because there's no point - it'd be tedious explaining the return of prequel characters who were absent in the original trilogy. Only characters who should return that appeared in the prequels are R2-D2 and C3P0, and that's because they were original trilogy characters first

I agree with you 100%. Mensah wouldve been awesome.

As for Jackson returning? Hologram. He was older than Kenobi, Kenobi was old as shit in Episode IV. Hologram.

Actually in the original trilogy Mace was the narrater but when they remastered the classic trilogy the edited that part out. Plus it was a galatic wars just because he wasn't with Luke and the gang doesn't mean he wasn't invovled with the war. With such a high profile actor the movie is bound to get more recognition then it would with just the classic character returning.

Well, there will be more Star Wars movie than just another trilogy. I don't know why we can't expect or hope for one set before the prequels, for example. Or during the Clone Wars - the Clone Wars CG show has proven time and again that the setting can offer some amazing Star Wars stories.

I thought Mace Windu was a pretty good character, I'd be happy to see him again in a new series. If the story is set after the prequels he should only be a ghost or a hologram, though. Him as a one armed Jedi that somehow survived the purge sounds kinda stupid. A live action Clone Wars movie would be cool, too; I have a feeling that Disney is going to milk this franchise for all it's worth.

He's not coming back. He got the death he wanted, he wanted some extravagant death and not to go out like a punk. He was a pretty useless character until the one seen an episode three where Anakin turned.

I would not be surprised if some hologram or something shows up it will be Obi-Wan Kenobi or Anakin but that is all.

Well Anakins injuries were much worse than his. He could have landed on a pod like Anakin in Episode 2.
Ceejay
Ceejay - 12/8/2012, 4:51 PM
Why would he be back as a ghost?

Why would he have one arm if he's a spirit?

Why would Qui-Gon be the first to discover how to exist in spirit form yet not turn up as one during Vader's entire life span?

Why would Yoda, Kenobi and Anakin be the only ones to be able to appear as spirits when there were thousands of Jedi?

Who Taught Anakin/Darth Vader how to return as a Spirit?

Why can't Sith Lords return as spirits?

Why would Yoda and Kenobi appear as old spirits yet Anakin appear as a youthful spirit despite all the horrors he's committed killing children, Jedi and entire planets?

Why would Padme choose to die if she believed there was still good in Anakin like she told Kenobi on her deathbed?

Why would anyone make Jar Jar a General?

Why would anyone make Jar Jar a Senator?

Why would anyone elect (ELECT!!) a teenager as a ruling Queen?

Why did the queen of Alderaan and Bail not have any children of their own?

Why did Owen and Beru Lars not have any children of their own?

Why would the senate send two Jedi to negotiate the end of a blockade then not believe them or the Queen about the invasion when they disclose their accounts?

Why are these make-it-up-as-you-go, filled with grade-school hole plots, Star wars sequels being held as something special by fanboys who could all probably write better stories without struggling to create more than one female character of any real purpose other than to sell more action figures.

Remake this shit, it's already ruined beyond any level of repair!
