Speaking with IGN at D23 last weekend, screenwriter Damon Lindelof continues to remain mum on details concerning Brad Bird's mysterious sci-fi film Tomorrowland. He briefly describes George Clooney's character (handsome, a great sense of humor), and also says that the movie's relationship to the Tomorrowland park is basically the same as the Pirates Of The Caribbean films' to the amusement ride. Lindelof then comments on Star Wars: Episode VII and shares his excitement for the J.J. Abrams-directed installment, as well as Star Trek 3 (which he confirms is moving ahead with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman writing, while he's still focused on Tomorrowland). Watch the video below and stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.

Tomorrowland hits theaters December 12th, 2014; Star Wars: Episode VII is targeting a Summer 2015 release; Star Trek 3 is on course for a 2016 debut.

Was hoping he would collab with J.J on Star Wars, oh well, it's still got a good script and director.

Lindelof is a poor excuse for a writer. He might be good to those who don't ask for excellence, but he doesn't cut the mustard for me. Especially not at sci-fi or the beloved franchises I grew up with. Seriously, he needs to go re-write Bambi or something.

i recently re-read Action Comics #900, which Lindelof wrote part of. his little bit of the comic showed Jor-El on Krypton before it blows up. he has an office meeting with a young researcher, he's become a depressed alcoholic because he knows the world is going to end, and he wears a wedding ring on his hand

this is supposed to be some advanced alien species from another galaxy and they're using American Christian marital traditions.
