First Clip From STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Released

Previously seen within the first nine minutes from the movie in IMAX theaters last December, the first clip from J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness has gone online. In it, the Enterprise attempt to rescue Spock (Zachary Quinto) from inside an active volcano.

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Many thanks to @antovolk for the heads up.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve and Anton Yelchin. The film is set to hit theaters May 17th.

The "Needs" line seemed uneventful and forced in. Still, can't wait to see it.

I love almost everything about the re-boots. I just can't stand the bridge of the new Enterprise. It has no style whatsoever.

@Aeyan Really? It seems to have a futuristic style to me.

I love these new Star Trek movies. JJ style fits Star Wars more, but the job he's done re-imagining these Star Trek movies has been tremendous.

dammit, I like Karl Urban, I WANT to like him as Bones, but every [frick]ing time he opens his mouth it sounds like a guy doing a cheesy impression of Dr. McCoy. Sigh...
