Micro-News: R2-D2 In STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, LOCKE & KEY, And Scarlet Witch

R2-D2 Star Trek Into Darkness
R2-D2 previously showed up J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot and now, eagle-eyed home video watchers have spotted the Star Wars robot again, this time in Star Trek Into Darkness. The droid shows up at the 1hr17minute mark as the USS Vengeance opens fires on the USS Enterprise.

Saorise Ronan Scarlet Witch
Saorise Ronan was rumored to be the prototype used for early Scarlet Witch concepts in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actress previously shot those rumors down and it's currently thought the role is Elizabeth Olsen's for the taking. Nevertheless, Ronan reaffirms to RCNTV that she'd like to be in a Marvel movie should the studio come calling.

Locke & Key Movie
A Locke & Key pilot was filmed for a possible television series launch in Fall 2011 on Fox but the network decided to pass. The pilot was subsequently shown at SDCC and received favorable reaction from fans and critics alike. Reportedly, there's now going to be a Locke & Key movie in lieu of a television show. Producer Alex Kurtzman shares with Collider, "We’re going to make a movie! We’re really serious. Absolutely! We’re really, really serious. In fact, we have locked down on a writer who really came up with a brilliant way to take the best of the first couple graphic novels and play out a complete first movie story with a lot of promise of future movies, which is really our goal. But, I am as in love with it as you are. I believe in it so much, and I believe in Joe Hill. All I want is to make that movie. I can’t tell you yet [who's writing the script]. We’re very close, though. Hopefully, it will be out soon. We really loved it, too. But, it will live on as a movie now, and hopefully many."

Elizabeth Olsen is a 100000000% better choice for Scarlet Witch than Saorise Ronan.
Also, that is an awesome easter egg. Nice find!

R2d2 is in all of his films! It is a toy from his childhood which he sneaks into his films. He is also in 1st trek and super 8. I saw an article about him and bad robot where he spoke about it.
