I don't mean to sound like a d*ck, but I'm still having problems with anyone but the almighty Shatner playing James T Kirk. That role belongs to him entirely, it would be like someone else playing the Bandit, or someone else playing Indiana Jones. Kirk is so iconic, and perhaps I come from the school that only Errol Flynn could play Robin Hood. I need to work on this one

ASSASSIN @ Have you seen the new TREK?

As for SHATNER, i don't think he'll ever get replaced but PINE done a good job as KIRK, though im not much of a TREKKIE or anything but i totally enjoyed STAR TREK.

Hey by the way, friggin' cool new AVATAR you got there! ; )

Ol' COLIN made that DARADEVIL movie!!!

Will all these FOX spin offs, why not do really good one with BULLSEYE???

I personally look forwards to the Blu-Ray. I will pick it up for sure. One of the few movies I actually want to own right now.

I never gave it a chance, I was being real stubborn about the movie, however I will make it my business to see it on bluray when it's released. I have heard and read great reviews for it, so it's time to get my head out of my ass and see it. Colin's facial expressions were awesome in DD, he really did make that movie-Thanks for the tip on Trek.

ASSASSIN @ No worries man! ; )

Yeah, i friggin' loved COLIN, that's the main reason i don't wanna see a reboot, coz they will probably replace him, an Colin's BULLSEYE should not be replaced, he was damn near perect for that role, ya right, no one could beat BULLSEYE with them facial expressions! ; D

Damn, this is the 6th time that I was the first in 6th place. I would love for the sequel. Any Star Trek film. I would like for someone to further the story of what happened to Captain Janeway and the mystery of her demise in the finale of Star Trek Voyager. It leaves alot of unanswered questions. @ED GROSS, thanks for the Article. I appreciate it.

The original Star Trek debuted when I was six years old, and I started to watch it then. In the '80s and '90s, when my journalism career kicked off, I interviewed dozens of actors, writers, directors and producers from the various incarnations (always with an emphasis on the original). I've written non-fiction books on the subject, so, safe to say, I hold my Trek pretty dear to me.

That being said, with the exception of a few contrivances (the way people rise in rank in the film is a bit dopey), J.J. Abrams and his team did a fantastic job of reimagining. The cast is fantastic, easily stepping into their respective roles and they did indeed rejuvenate the franchise, which, for all intents and purposes, was in its death throes.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I highly recommend that you pick up the disc when it's released. As I told screenwriter Bob Orci, I haven't been this giddy about Trek since the weeks and days leading up to the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture back in 1979.

The new Trek movie was awesome. I like the new Captain K. and the rest. Most of the other Trek movies were pretty bad w/exception of Wrath of Khan. Don't care about blu-ray or imax, I was less than impressed with either, it is just a clearer picture. So what. I will be impressed when I can put on a pair of VR glasses and actually be in the movie, until then ehh...

Dude, Trek was definitely my favorite movie of the summer. Check out Chris Pine in "Bottle Shock." He kills it as a pothead slacker.
