STAR TREK RENEGADES: New Web Series - Trailer

Star Trek: Renegades is a new weebseries from the producers of the independent film Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, and it's promising to be a Trek for the 21st Century and not a complete slave to the past. The cast announced so far includes actors from previous incarnations of the franchise.

Among them are Walter Koenig (Chekov), Tim Russ (Tuvok), Gary Graham (Enterprise), Richard Herd, Garrett Wang and Initiraymi (all from Voyager). More about the show will be revealed soon.

The official announcement includes the following: "Renegades will be a departure from previous Treks – delving into the dark side of the human psyche, pushing our heroes to their limits, forcing them to carry out actions that they never would have as Starfleet officers. The rules have changed, and they realize they might be the last hope to save the Federation. Star Trek: Renegades will be action oriented, filled with suspense and espionage; all while exploring new worlds, encountering both familiar and new alien species, and boldly going where no Trek has gone before.

Well at least we'll have some kind of Star Trek series. I'm not a big Trekkie but I do miss having a Trek to watch.

I really didn't like Of Gods and Men. The low production qualities and bad acting (except from the real actors) make it hard for me to take them seriously. This is saying quite a bit, since I enjoyed TOS.

Can a web series be considered a movie?
And just where is the comic book??

Oh, Foom, you so silly. Star Trek in any of its incarnations has always been covered on this site. Sorry.

@foom it doesn't have to have a comic to be on the site! Even though this one does ....why do people find this so hard to understand!!!

@foom, they have been making Star Trek comics since before I was born. They have been running almost continually since the late 60's.

Just wish they could get back on tv again. I miss the franchise in general. The fan stuff is ok but I just want the graphics similar to tng or star wreck series.

@Foom: No, never mind. Everybody else have said it.

Thanks, Ed. Cool news. I'll be looking forward to this. But as for new series, I don't think it will work. TV-wise, I don't think the franchise can be salvaged. It has to be revamped and reimagined (the word that people like to use these days) so badly that probably only the universe of the franchise remains.

No, for now, I think the movies will have to suffice for a few years until someone comes up with a new approach to the franchise. Kind of like CSI at that time. IMO.
