@ED Did you know that a term in TV lingo, that the opposite of "Jumping the Shark" is called "Riker's Beard". It's when a show goes from unspectacular/boring/outlandish to completely awesome. LOL

When was Patrick Stewart in Star Trek? Did he play Chris Pine's father?

@xfan
As long as Tom Hardy plays Picard (again) I'm down!

Who could capture the pure untainted awesomeness of Will Riker, tho?!

@xfan320

....no. I am saying that as an Abrams fan. Abrams did good with his first Star Trek film, but this second one was terrible. I want the original universe back. Also a new trek show set post Voyager would be good.

@TheSisko
I'd rather have seen a DS9 movie jump, I feel you on a post Voyager show too.

@theamarilloblack I would love a ds9 movie but at the same time what made DS9 good was how different it was from the other series, and still at its heart was about exploring. Trek needs to go back to boldly exloring the unknown, whether it is literal or more of the human condition. No more of this retreding of the same stories. Sorry I am just really disappointed JJ had the gaul to bring Khan in. Therr were so many other TOS villians and he had to Khan. *sigh*

I still say "Enterprise" should have gotten the full 7 seasons that the other franchises got. It was really beginning to hit it's stride and still had plenty of story to tell.

TNG is awesome, Trek period is awesome. I would love a TNG reboot but I wonder about something....

Could they not just treat Trek as a Universe since it all is. I think it is very ambitious but could be huge. Roddenbery and those that came after him created quite the universe. Star Trek ala MCU style?

Anyone?

It doesn't need to be limited to TNG. TNG DS9 and Voyager were all crossed over. It was actually a basic premise that is similar to what MCU is doing. Likely unknowingly.

Man, as a kid I grew up on Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's the vision of the star trek universe that I was first introduced to. What made me interested in Star Trek period. I've since been a loyal fan and immersed myself in the universe, and seen each new Star Trek film in theaters since then... the 90's. This cast did such an amazing dob. Good post.

enough with the kirk years (so cheesy), I want a film about the SNG or Voyager crew. I also miss the borg... They were bad ass.

This is remastered TNG right? Anyone know what it's like? Is it worth the money? I've already bought all 7 seasons of this show 3 time; twice on vhs and once on DVD and I'm not keen on buying it again unless it's really worth it like the remastered TOS was. When I bought TNG on DVD it cost me £89.99 a season! That's what, about 130-140 dollars a pop times 7, so I'm not overly keen on forking out again.

From " the best of both worlds " on to the end . It took a few seasons for casting chemistry to get right .
