Some updates from the "Future Of Star Wars" panel at Dragon Con.

Screenrant has some news and rumors about the hugely anticipated but seldom heard from live action Star Wars TV show.

They are reporting(via The Examiner) that pre-production (Writing) will start up soon and run until “the new year.”

From the rumor camp, the word is that Daniel Logan (who played Boba Fett in "Attack of the Clones") is interested in reprising his role for the show and might be involved in the project. During the panel, it was stated that we should “… expect news from Daniel’s camp in the not too distant future.“



The show is expected to air around 2012 sometime.

Last I heard it was to be late 2010... and that was only back in May!

I hope they do this right. Fkn up Boba Fett would be the last straw for Lucas and friends.

Indeed Billy. They already missed a golden opportunity for some great iconic drama in Clones when he picks up his fathers helmet..from about a mile away, for all of a second! They better get this right.

I love the republic novels, they're so much cooler than the jedi. So this makes Boba what, like 16? They'll fudge it up.

The only reason boba was so cool is cause we didn't know anything about him. We didint know what he looked like, where he came from etc.... It was the mystery And the skills that made him so cool. If they actually make him a fully fleshed out character I think it would take away from the badassness. Even if they did it good. Darth vader is a good case in point. Do we really think he's more badass knowing that it's Haden christiansen under that helmet? Yeah, didn't think so.

Hey guys I am back and got alot to catch up on. Any way I hope that they get this right.. I am a huge fan as you can tell by the name. I think that this could work on some many levels, but fail on just as many. Lets hope they get it right, because I for one can not take many more upsets from Mr. Lucas.. I think if they could hire the writers from the KOTOR games it would be fantastic, but thats wishful thinking.

Scary thing about Star Wars is the stories written for the video games. Bounty Hunter, and Force Unleashed would have made epic movies with stories that match or better the prequels. Why couldn't they grab the game writers for the tv show, I'd rest a lot easier

I've been waiting for this TV show to come out for a long time. I hate to hear that the show will come out some time in 2012(the end of the world, nah, just kidding), but that's the price to pay for being another huge Star Wars fan I guess. But hey, Young Bobba(Now a young adult)ppossibly for the role of his future self? Awesome.

Ya know I will be dead by the time this show comes out. They will keep pushing it back. I wish they would dump the cartoon networks clone wars and focus on this. It would also be nice if they did a Knights of the Old Republic or another era that did not involve current characters. I have been a Star Wars historian for along time. They killed it when they went CGI, go back to models and do it the right way. CGI is the death of good movies, models still more realistic than CGI.

Look at Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi. Compare the way the starships go through space with how they do in Revenge of the Sith. It looks terrible and computer generated. Ugh. CGI has its place but has its limitations.

why is it that mr george lucas and his minions are stuck in the clone era? it's like okay we get it, the clones and what not were a significant point in star wars history. we sat through a lack luster movie and cartoon series' based on the clone era, enough already. how about some pre phantom menace or some post return of the jedi entertainment. i hope this show isnt about more clone era stuff

They should have made THE CLONE WARS live action! How kick ass would that have been?! I'll belive this news when I see it. They have been talking about this for awhile. Untill then....I'll stick with what's on Cartoon Network now.

I'm with you. Too salvage the lackluster performaces of the prequel trilogy, I think a new trilogy with an older vetted director with a visionary eye and mind should handle a post Jedi movie. I'm thinking Ridley Scott could give it a boost! Or, even Peter Jackson. Veering away from the Sci-fi aspect and venture a little more towards fantasy again. Dump that midi-chlorian nonsense.

Gawd this has so much potential that I'm scared for it's arrival. Please don't F@#$ this up for all of us. I think they could keep this series very simple in visuals and still be a great show. I hope they don't do what they did with the prequels and just worry about effects.

@superDOG- ya gotta a point homeskillet. But i love seeing how the devil turns ya know. But now that Bobba is in question with the show, and although He is the character i would most want to see.... well I am scared, truly , truly scared. To be honest... this isnt even funny in the slightest. There really is too much at stake here. I never that i would say that about Star Wars but after the last few movies. I dont have much choice do i... i told ya i'd shoot... Whyyyy didnt'cha believe me?!

Well I wont get my hopes up about this show until I see it is in production but if it is done right (and George Lucas is kept away from the directors chair), it should be an awesome sci-fi TV series. It might be better than the prequel trilogy but it will never be better than the original trilogy

The great thing about it is, it has the potential to run for 20 series if done right as it can chronicle all the unknown years between Episode III & IV, showing how the Empire dominates the galaxy and if Lucas is clever, he will include plot elements from the different comic and books set in the era between III & IV (even though I know Lucas doesnt consider most of them canon)

i actually like the clone wars on cartoon network, not as much as the clone wars micro episodes that the guy that made samurai jack was doing though.

also, isn' this supposed to be about the 501st storm troopers?? that'll be cool. but i also agree with most, they should get away from the close wars era and either do a Knights of the Old Republic era show or post return of the jedi. there's so much there to be explored

and i don't think this whole show will be about boba fett. originally it was going to be a show about the 501st battallion of stormtroopers, like special forces style. i'm for that, actually. i'm boba fett will be around though.

also, boba fett is the most over rated character, yet everyone, including myself, loves the guy. lol, he literally did nothing in the movies except get eaten like a chump by the sarlak pit, lol.

CDB, he actually escapes the Sarlacc in the novels, which Im taking as canon since Lucas will never show that onscreen, Greedo firing first jackass that he is.
