With Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off Rogue One officially moving ahead, a few more details about the project have begun to surface. In an interview with Radio Classique's Culture Club, French composer Alexandre Desplat revealed that he will reteam with Edwards (both worked on last year's Godzilla) to create the soundtrack. This is an interesting move by Lucasfilm, as it marks only the second time John Williams has not scored a Star Wars film (the animated film The Clone Wars was the first). But with Desplat coming off an Oscar win for his work on The Grand Budapest Hotel, however, he's a high quality choice to put a new spin on the franchise. Star Wars: Rogue One hits theatres December 16th, 2016.
