Galaxy's Edge opened to mixed reviews earlier this year, but there's a lot of excitement surrounding the debut of new ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney World today.

An interactive simulator of sorts, the attraction "puts visitors right in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order—featuring Kylo Ren, an army of storm troopers and two AT-ATs—and our favorite heroes of the Resistance—BB-8, Rey and Poe!" Honestly, it looks awesome, and it's easy to imagine the lines for this one being insane over the holidays.

Putting the focus on characters from the current trilogy was certainly an interesting decision considering the fact that the saga is set to come to an end this month, and an argument could be made that those mentioned above aren't quite as timeless as the likes of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader!

Based on this footage and the amazing gallery of images which have been revealed, though, it's fair to say that Star Wars fans will definitely want to try this one out.

I’m impressed by how much they have going on in the course of this one... it’s like 3 rides strung together that keep you immersed between all of them.

I will still check this park out in the next year or so but it's a shame that they went full new trilogy without any of the classic Star Wars stuff.
