As expected, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still dominating the box office with a solid $24.6 million on its second Friday. Now, analysts believe the movie will make $102 million over the four day Christmas weekend but an additional $4 million being added to that means the sequel would hit $400 million domestically by the end of Monday. For now, it's earned a total of $321.2 million which is great.
The Rian Johson helmed release faces an awful lot of competition this weekend as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is expected to earn $43 million by Monday and a total of $60 million since opening earlier this week. Pitch Perfect 3, meanwhile, had a $10.6 million opening day for a total of $35 million by Christmas. The Hugh Jackman led The Greatest Showman is underperforming with $20 - $25 million.
How high will Star Wars: The Last Jedi go? That remains to be seen but despite the mixed response from fans, it's clear moviegoers are enjoying checking out this latest chapter of the Skywalker Saga!
