Marvel have announced three new Star Wars comic books for next year. The first will launch in January and is simply titled Star Wars. It comes from the creative team of Jason Aaron (Thor: God of Thunder) and John Cassaday (Uncanny Avengers) and takes place after the destruction of the first Death Star as Luke, Han and Leia battle Darth Vader. In February, we'll get Star Wars: Darth Vader from Kieron Gillen (Iron Man) and Salvador Larroca (Cable and X-Force), with covers by Adi Granov. That takes place from the perspective of the iconic villain as he atempts to regain control over the Empire after their defeat at the hands of the Rebels in A New Hope. Finally, March will see the debut of Star Wars: Princess Leia from Mark Waid (Daredevil) and Terry Dodson (X-Men). Following the battle of Yavin, it picks up with the princess as she sets out on various missions following the destruction of her home planet Alderaan. Pretty exciting stuff, wouldn't you agree?

The Darth Vader series is probably the only interesting one. Maybe Leia too but the main series sounds like it's just gonna be another story.

I'm kinda annoyed that Aaron's book is basically what Brian Wood was doing in the adjectiveless Star Wars book before Disney bought it but meh, its Aaron.

@Gado

Well considering the EU's cast of female characters has been pushed aside...the fact that the artist can on draw one female face really becomes a non-issue since there are only three women in all of Star Wars (IV,V,VI) that have even spoken (that's a quick mental runthrough of the three films)
