First SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Reactions Are Here - Is It Another PHANTOM MENACE Or EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?

Just hours after the first reactions to Deadpool 2 surfaced, critics are already weighing in on Solo: A Star Wars Story but does the movie crumble after those production problems or exceed expectations?

Solo: A Star Wars Story has been plagued by behind the scenes drama from fairly early on after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired by Lucasfilm for their unique approach to shooting the movie (which included dozens of takes and lots of improvisation, 21 Jump Street style). Ron Howard was later brought on to replace them and he's reportedly reshot a whopping 70% of the movie.

By rights, it should be a disaster up there with last year's Justice League but the first social media reactions are here after last night's premiere and they're actually overwhelmingly positive. In fact, they appear to be even better than Avengers: Infinity War and that bodes well for the latest spinoff.

At this point, Star Wars movies are pretty much immune to critics but good word of mouth will definitely help Solo, especially as it comes so soon after Deadpool 2 hits
theaters. Apparently, we should expect some big surprises too and it sounds like the movie will have a big impact on this Galaxy moving forward. @boiling - btw the article intro question is wrong, here I correct that for you:
‘Is It Another LAST JEDI Or EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?‘
Because clearly TPM is waaaaay better than TLJ. Even the Ewok flicks are better. Hell even BvS, Jaws 4, Indy 4, Fantastic Four (2015) and Jupiter Ascending are. Actually every goddamn movie is better than TLJ. There. I said it.

@boiling - TLJ is a masterpiece...its the citizen kane of star wars films.

@mastakilla39 - that is kinda blasphemous. and ridiculous. but also funny because I know you can’t be serious.

@boiling - im being serious, its not a perfect film but its well shot, well acted, and has an understandable theme. What did you expect from Johson? To rip off the old films and just have a bunch of meaningless light saber and jedi battles with random aliens?

He pulled the breaks on nostalgia and killed all "member berry" elements every director before him just keep doing with star wars franchise.

Wasn't excited, but now I am 👍
I knew it'd be a good movie judging from the trailers, but after reading that it's a great heist movie with comedic moments & well choreographed action....my hype levels are rising

I have a good feeling about this being a perfectly enjoyable, entertaining movie.

Still not likely to watch it, though.
