The sinister Grand Admiral Thrawn has remained a fan-Favorite Star Wars character since he was first introduced in the Expanded Universe novel Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, and his recent addition to the Star Wars Rebels animated series has brought his popularity to new heights.

Now, it looks like the character could make his live-action debut in Episode IX.

Zahn recently revealed that plans for his new Thrawn books were in limbo while the final instalment in the new trilogy is finalised, and now we have a leaked audition video (via Omega Underground) featuring actor Adam Templar sporting blue face-pain and red contacts.

Of course, this vid doesn't necessarily mean that Templar is trying out for a role in Episode IX, but on the heels of Zahn's comments it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see the Grand admiral crossover into live-action? Sound off below.

Listen to the dialogue in the video. It talks about hunting a jedi and a planet being under imperial control. More likely for Obi-Wan then Episode IX.

Lucas should have simply made the Zahn Thrawn Trilogy back in the early to mid-90s when they were released. The main cast was still young enough, the popularity of the books showed how badly the public still craved Star Wars.

To me those books and the following Jedi Academy trilogy are canon. These new movies are a faint echo of what Star Wars could be.

@411IDSigo - even when they aren’t actually canon lol

@411IDSigo - yep they should have been made into movies. That trilogy would have been much better than the trash trilogy that they are doing now.....

@Mattygrand - Oh I’m sorry, did you miss the part when I said “to ME” they are canon.

Translation: I don’t care what Disney magically decided what to make canon or not.

But I guess that’s too hard for you to comprehend. You would rather offer a nonsensical and useless response.

@411IDSigo - it’s not magically if it’s offical lol. Oh and I didn’t miss it, I just didn’t care too much regarding it, plus I’m not the one who decided to insulting people for no real good reason 😂

Why not just get Lars Mikkelsen he's done the voice in Rebels so it would make sense for him to play him in live action

@SupermansTrunks -
Yes. Lars Mikkelsen would be perfect as a live action Thrawn, and his Rebels character model looks exactly like him.

How? Thrawn went bye bye at the end of Rebels.

@ExpertlyMediocr - I think they did too but then you might have to get into where he's been.

I liked how it ended.

This is some actor just looking to get a little publicity. Nothing legit about this whatsoever.
