Following on from their cover reveals, Empire has released another image of Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is reminiscent of that shot from the first teaser in which the mysterious villain ignites his lightsaber in a clearing, though that appeared to be set at night time. I guess Mr. Ren just really enjoys walks in the forest! Be sure to pick up the new issue of Empire this Thursday for more great Force Awakens coverage.

Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.

The shadows, the hazy sunlight, Kylo Ren's black outfit contrasted with the red lightsaber...damn, that's a gorgeous pic.

Magnificent. I don't think this movie can really fail. Everything we've seen so far is epic. The OT OG crew is back. Lawrence Kasden who wrote two of the best movies is back. JJ is a huge Star Wars fan. Like Mark Hamill said, don't set yourself up for it to be the best movie ever. It won't be. Just enjoy the ride.

Do we have any theories as to why Ren's lightsaber beam is so sloppy?

Yeah, @NightsKing -- I'm a ginormous fan of the MCU, but right, the villains have been on the light side, been some good ones (Ultron, Stane, Blonsky) a great one (Loki), but I'm also ok with Marvel focusing more on the Heroes, it's what makes their universe such a box office smash...nothing wrong with that imo...think the DCEU will give us richer villains because of the darker tone -- don't mind that dichotomy...

@campblood JJ has said the lightsaber is an extension of Kylo Ren...it represents his fiery and wild attitude and demeanor. It's power is unstable like Ren. Not only did he build it from scratch, without the fine and precise construction that usually comes with a lightsaber's inception, but it's a representation of Ren and his wild power

I think that this will be #1 box-office, best movie of the year AND hoping it is the best Star Wars movie.

Suck it Jurassic World, Age Of Ultron and Furious 7

@MercWithMouth

Because Vader thought his son died during childbirth.....

He didn't search for his son because he didn't know he had a son.....

Also nobody called Luke Luke Skywalker on tatatoonie. His aunt & uncle called him just Luke......

I don't think he first told anyone his last name in the film till he met Obi-Wan and then when he told Leia....

@LEVITIKUZ

Of course his aunt and uncle didn't call him Luke Skywalker, I don't refer to my family with their last name either. I would be certain that someone knew his last name though.

Vader was still a terrible villain.
