More Potential STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Spoilers Regarding Luke Skywalker

I will be covering some potentially major spoilers. Do not proceed any further if you'd like to be left in the dark about what may happen to Luke Skywalker in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII.

Last month, Making Star Wars posted a spoiler that was so crazy, if true, it would prove to be as big of a twist as Darth Vader telling Luke Skywalker "I...am your father" in Empire Strikes Back. Yeah, that big.

SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING!

What's the twist? If you've come this far you probably already know what it is. They described a Star Wars VII villain that sits upon an Imperial throne. He has a cloak, a mask and a cyborg hand. This evil-looking character is none other than, Luke Skywalker. This would be the perfect time to shout, "No...that's not true...that's impossible!" Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Soon after the article was posted various writers across the internet backed up the story to give it credence. Earlier today, Making Star Wars
shared some additional information regarding Luke Skywalker's fate in Star Wars VII.
I’m told that in the back story for the film, Luke Skywalker does something amazing with the Force. He’s really powerful, more of “wizard than lightsaber wielding warrior.” Basically, Luke Skywalker has a “Force Unleashed” moment and realizes he might be bad for the universe. The aftermath of that event is difficult for Luke.

Luke Skywalker has become the most powerful Jedi ever, but he doesn’t believe he’s the wisest. He doesn’t want to make the mistake his father made by thinking he knows what’s right for the universe. Skywalker becomes somewhat deranged in his seclusion. He is consumed by his fear that if he should return to “society” his power could be misused, he could be manipulated, and he may accidentally hurt the one’s he loves.

For these reasons, to protect the galaxy and himself, Luke retreats into self-imposed exile for many years. I’m told he can’t always control the power. While he sits in a meditative state, he levitates things unconsciously and he’s not always in complete control and he’s never sure if he’s doing the will of the Force or acting on his own passions. Luke is seeing the past, the present, the future, “old friends long gone” and other things that prey upon his sanity.

Luke Skywalker is described as “creepy and frightening in appearance” because you supposedly can see “the fire in his eyes” behind his grizzled appearance during some scenes.

Even though his appearance will give off an evil vibe Making Star Wars says it has more to do with Luke going mad than evil. Fearing that he has grown too strong has led him down a path of madness. Does sanity and goodness still exist inside of him, maybe. The new disturbance in the force will compel Luke to come out of exile. We'll know by the final act of Star Wars VII if Luke is truly good or evil.

What I find most interesting about this twist is that Luke had the weight of the galaxy placed upon his shoulders and eventually let that pressure get the best of him. Making Star Wars concluded their article with this powerful sentence, "His absence is the reason things have escalated in the universe." Personally, I like that. I think most fans figured Luke took his mastery of the force and passed along those Jedi skills to a new generation. He still very well could have, but this potential twist offers a neat little wrinkle to his destiny. Color me intrigued.

Star Wars: Episode VII - Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. It's being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.

All I know is if Luke pulls a vader after everything he's seen, and done, I'll be very angry. Luke is supposed to be the ultimate good. So no dark side bull crap.....also first.

Are they going to ever re-release the theatrical versions of the original movies?

Or was that false?

If true, this SUCKS. Seriously, that [frick]s up the entire resolution of episode 6. Then again, the movie should be surprising, but not like this. Not Luke.

I could see Luke becoming like a force god. His dad was the chosen one and he was trained by Yoda and Obi Wan. He should be able to manipulate te force easy. Sounds like a cool concept, him becoming mad becuase of his own power. But this movie will be spoiled by spring the way the spikelets are dropping. This spoiler sounds true

If they make Luke evil, I am going to be very disappointed. They already [frick]ed up by discarding the Expanded Universe. What's next? Are they going to destroy Tatooine with red matter too?

Luke could become a Force God and as such, decide to become a neutral entity in the Star Wars universe.

He can become a divine arbitrator between different sides of The Force. A kind of cosmic judge who intervenes at certain points to restore a certain balance between the light and dark.

Can someone just "mindwipe" me? I only want to remember New Hope through Jedi as I watched them in theaters and want to forget the new garbage. I've tried liquor but I keep sobering up.

If that's true then that actually makes me feel sorry for Luke Skywalker. I always thought that Luke would some what find peace and happiness.

I like it. I've always liked the idea of kind of a curse over the Skywalker bloodline. A family so attuned to the Force that both tragedy and incredible moments of heroism seem to always be a part of their history. I don't agree with the idea that Luke turns out to be just some super happy, well-adjusted Jedi Master living happily ever after after Ep 6. That's too boring.

So after Luke helps his father redeem himself he ends up becoming evil... I hope Vader & Yoda haunts his punk ass

@Jedi - So making Supes make a hard decision when he was young & giving him an opportunity to redeem himself & become the Superman he should be is worse than turning Luke to the darkside in his old age?
