STAR WARS: Disney Reportedly "Struggling" To Find A Replacement For Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy

A new Star Wars rumour has surfaced and it once again points to Disney looking to replace Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy following Solo: A Star Wars Story's disappointing box office performance.

There have been rumblings for a while now that Disney could be looking to replace Kathleen Kennedy as Lucasfilm's President, something which does make sense seeing as she's now clashed with a number of filmmakers and could be at least partially blamed for Solo: A Star Wars Story's dismal performance at the box office. Then again, she's also spearheaded the franchise's otherwise successful revival!

Adding more fuel to the fire is Beyond the Trailer's Grace Randolph who claims that she's heard Disney CEO Bob Iger is interested in replacing Kennedy but can't find anyone for the job. It's said that J.J. Abrams has already turned down the position as
have a number of others and that reportedly boils down to the fact that there are so many people within Lucasfilm who are loyal to Kennedy's leadership.

This should, of course, be taken with a pinch of salt for now but it's food for thought and definitely somewhat believable. After all, Solo was something of an embarrassment for Disney and we've heard from more reliable sources that the studio is going back to the drawing board with these movies. What do you guys think the future holds in store for Lucasfilm? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

@Trimount - I really wish I knew how to post pics here, as it would be the perfect time to post The Inanimate Carbon Rod from the Simpsons.

Does anyone have the feeling that we're going to get the young avengers in Avengers 4 and that the film will be set further in the future than we thought?

Its almost as if the original avengers disbanded/retired after Thanos and handed the mantle over to the younger characters. I expect to see Shuri, Harley, Cassie and maybe even one of Hawkeye's kids fighting battles in the post-Thanos dystopia/utopia.

Then something happens that bring the original Avengers back on order to stop what Thanos did.

@UltimateCarnage - would be nice and a great story to pick up on however, we know BP and SM are coming back.....and then time will be reset. If you have a great period time like 5 years one rumour said, that causes issues in the sense of well ppl would have conceived, been born and grew up in that period of time, if time is reset I think that give a grim aspect if the audience thought about it too much. Story wise I like the idea but due us knowing what’s going to happen at the end, I think it would be a weird world building. Time skip would be around a couple of months to a year max.

@JONALOTZRH - I think we’re going to see a multiverse storyline introduce the newly reaquired IP’s from Fox. This will also allow them to recast existing A list characters with new younger actors. That’s the way I’d go anyways.

@Matman3099 - that’s fine, I’m just saying if there is a massive time skip, marvel need to be careful about how they might get around it, if they do re set.

Give it to Greg Weisman, he is a guy who knows how to plan a story, he plans out his stuff years in advanced
Gargoyles: He created it, worked on it for 2 seasons but still had story ideas for what came next, then after the crappy 3rd season by the new crew, did the comic books, adapting his plans properly.
Spectacular Spider-man: had a 5 season plan right from the beginning.
Young Justice: Definitely took a lot of planning.
Plus he was an executive producer of Star Wars Rebels

Sure let's replace the woman who has brought Disney and Lucasfilm a shit ton of money.

You would have to be stupid to believe that the woman might be replaced

TheUnworthyThor
TheUnworthyThor - 6/27/2018, 4:02 AM
@ELAYEM - Call me crazy but it seems unlikely that the guy who no longer wanted to make Star Wars is going to replace his own hand chosen successor.

@TheUnworthyThor - Yeah I know it’s about as likely as snowballs in hell but hey a man can hope.

@ELAYEM - Very unlikely, but it would be great if he came in and reset the story. TLJ destroyed so many fan boy's passion for that universe.
