I don't get this. Is it meant to be cannon?

@Nightwing1015 - it is canon. They will be telling short stories of each character.
I believe the format is Maz Kanata telling the audience the story.
The Rey one takes place between her finding BB8 and returning for her rations.

@Nightwing1015 - does it matter? they're just minor side-stories that don't affect the overall bigger mythos.

@Spidey91 - I suppose it doesn't matter. I just wonder why they wish to tell such simple minor stories when they could make a new show set between Jedi and Force Awakens.

@Nightwing1015 - maybe they wanna save that particular gap in the mithology for a future, bigger expansion, like comics, movies, even videogames.

@Spidey91 - I hope they explore it soon. There's going to be flashbacks in Episode 8 so maybe they're waiting for that to come out first.

@Nightwing1015 - well these are just shorts, so we probably will get a real new show next year or the year after once Star Wars Rebels ends this year

While is will watch as it is canon. The animation is just awful. This would be a perfect opportunity to adapt the 2D animation style of the non-canon clone wars or adapt a Legend of Korra style (which would look great for action scenes).
Considering they are shorts p, there is no excuse that it's too costly + I think Dinsey might have enough money (just barerly)

@StormXmen123 - All the money Disney makes and all their 2d animated shows look exactly like this.

I hate to say it, but this just looks like pandering. This is something that looks like it was thrown together just as a merchandising ploy with no real effort in animation. And before anyone says, "well Star Wars has been nothing but Merchandising for years." Yes I am aware of this, Jar Jar Binks is the worse offender. Hell even the Ewoks were nothing but an excuse to sell toys. We even had an Ewoks animated series. This isn't really anything new. But this feels like what I was afraid of from the beginning when Disney bought Lucasfilm. Lower quality of a product so they can sell it en masse. But like I said, I hope I am wrong about this, and it turns out to be a series of shorts with enjoyable stories, and adds more to these characters that we have grown up with.

@Kryptonmatters - I can assure you it has nothing to do with the Forces of Destiny action figure line aimed at girls that's being released shortly. Nothing at all.

@GreedoSarducci - I have nothing against a toyline aimed at girls, but If you are going to release a tie-in product make more of an effort than what you are actually doing.

I'm liking the idea, but I'm not so big on that Flash style animation. You can do Flash animation well, but this looks like something on youtube and not nearly the quality of something like Wakfu
