STAR WARS: Han Solo's Last Remaining Blaster From A NEW HOPE Just Sold For Over $1 Million At Auction

The final blaster used by Harrison Ford's Han Solo in Star Wars: A New Hope recently went on sale at auction, and you won't believe how much it sold for! Find more details on the record-breaking sum here.

Movie props remain perhaps the most highly sought-after commodity among collectors, particularly when it comes to the Star Wars franchise. You need to have deep pockets if you hope to get your hands on a screen-used item, of course, and Han Solo's blaster from the original trilogy just sold for an unbelievable sum.

According to TMZ (via SFFGazette.com), the smuggler's iconic weapon has picked up over $1 million at auction, no doubt making it the most prized piece in the unknown buyer's collection.

This prop is the last surviving model of the three used during the shooting of A New Hope, which only serves to make it more desirable. The blaster was sold at the Rock Island Auction Company for more than double the predicted price as the original sale estimate was roughly $400,000.

Instead, it nabbed $1,057,500 (clearly, $1,058,000 was $500 too much for the others bidding on the item).

Among other items up for grabs were Darth Vader's suit, a variety of lightsabers, including Count Dooku's, and Boba Fett's helmet. Solo has always had a special place in the heart of fans, though, so we're not surprised it ended up being the biggest sale of the day. The blaster is iconic, and A New Hope is where it all began for the Star Wars franchise.

In fact, it's still considered the greatest of all these movies among many fans, and anything from George Lucas and the cast's first trip into this Galaxy Far, Far Away always sells for big money.

This is a crazy figure, though, and we certainly hope this lucky fan takes good care of the blaster...no matter how tempting it will probably be to run around his mansion with it shouting, "P-tew, p-tew, p-tew!"

Would you pay this much for a Star Wars prop if you could? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments section.

"it nabbed $1,057,500 (clearly, $1,058,000 was $500 too much for the others bidding"

Maybe the bidding went in stels of 2,500 dollars? Otherwise it is odd, 500 bucks is nothing on a million (not that I have either though).

I also like how the article assumes the new owner has a mansion. And to be honest, I think that's a fair assumption

A movie prop for $1 million.
I am a huge Star Wars fan and even if I had the money I could never justify that purchase.
But to each his own.

How many are those bids are real people and others are fake bids to raise bid on auction
