Disney XD has finally released the trailer for the last ever episodes of the excellent Star Wars Rebels, and it definitely suggests that a few surprises are in store for Ezra, Hera and the rest of our heroes - and we're not just talking about Kannan's new hairdo.

As previously rumored, Emperor Palpatine will indeed make his presence felt when the show returns on February 19, and Ian McDiarmid will be reprising the role. How he'll factor into this final adventure remains to be seen, but whatever part he has to play, it can't be good news for The crew of The Ghost.

Check out the trailer and a poster below, and let us know what you think in the usual place.

The beginning of the end starts MONDAY, FEB. 19 (9:00 p.m. EST) when the critically-acclaimed animated series “Star Wars Rebels” returns to Disney XD with new episodes as the series nears its grand finale. The final episodes will unfold over three weeks, with two back-to-back episodes premiering every Monday night on Disney XD, until its epic 90-minute conclusion on MONDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m. EST). As teased in a new “Star Wars Rebels” trailer, Emperor Palpatine makes his series debut in these final episodes, voiced by actor Ian McDiarmid who reprises this iconic role from the “Star Wars” live-action films.

Nice!
The first half of the season was really boring for me, this looks good tho!
Can't wait to see Palps, it's gonna be fun! :)

I gotta say tho, Rebels never managed to top The Clone Wars, hopefully the next one will fare better.

P.S. The one voicing Palps...is that who i think it is? :P

@Doomsday8888 - I had the opposite experience. I always felt like clone wars was hard to sit through because there was never any danger for any of the characters. I knew that basically all of them would survive because I saw episode III... I feel like my kids will like it a lot more if I let them watch clone wars before they can watch episode three.

@ElCidJedi - Well.. it's basically the same here, besides Chopper and Hera being alive in Rogue One i doubt any of the others made it to the Battle of Yavin... unless of course the series has a Disney's "happily ever after" ending.

@billnye69 - Unfortunate, season 2 was so great! Especially the finale, even more so if you were a fan of Clone Wars.

ELAYEM - 1/19/2018, 12:00 PM
@MalseMarcel - Yeah exactly, my fanboy dream is an animated show starring Luke, Leia, Han, and young Ben Solo between VI and VII that’s the same quality or better than The Clone Wars

@ELAYEM - I want the full year after the battle of endor in animated form. That would be awesome enough for me

They should give filoni and crew a chance to do the story for their own trilogy of movies. Their storylines are much more interesting, especially those of the clone wars.

@Raptor2442 - I agree. Filoni and co should do atleast to an anthology. Or atleast should get the chance too

@Raptor2442 - More than anyone. Thanks to the show, the prequels and especially the in-world clone wars went from cool to motherfvcking awesome (I use the word motherfvcker because my dad is awesome too)

Wow guys I mean... I stopped after season 2 but those first two seasons were pretty great. It’s true though that it never hooked me like Clone Wars did.

Man clone wars was so good it made the prequels better.
Darth258
Darth258 - 1/19/2018, 12:18 PM
@MarsivNayr - Yeah, i'm happy that didn't get wiped out like the rest of the EU and remained as part of the canon.

This show has like 2-3 epic episodes per season. The rest is Disney XD nonsense.

I hope they don't kill Thrawn. Then maybe do series retelling the Zahn trilogy in line with modern cannon.
