Thanks to a pre-order listing by Walmart (via Stitch Kingdom), we have this early look at the cover art that'll be used for their Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray (or one of 'em, anyway), as well as a list of additional features.

Because this hasn't been officially released yet the image - which features the saga's adorable new droid BB-8 - is a bit on the small side, but we'll update as soon as we get a better one.

The listing gave a release date of 12/31/16, but it's believed this might be a dummy date.

Probably going to be different individual covers that are Walmart Exclusives.

They did that for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Will it have an R-rated director's cut?

When I get the Blu-ray, I'm going to rip a copy for my collection so I can edit out the sh*t curse that Han says - there was no reason for that imho. I'm also going to add some of the political deleted scenes that should have remained in the theatrical cut.

@Jaxim - shit curse?

@NeoBaggins - I wasn't going to write the word. I'm not sure of this site's rules and plus, it's not in my vocabulary and I don't wish it to be in my kids' either so that's why I am going to take it out of my digital copy.

Is there going to be a 3D release? Or has Disney stopped selling 3D versions of their movies?

The [frick], the DVD is basically coming out next year.

That is TERRIBLE.

I mean, of all the great characters that got introduced in that movie... BB-8? The little R2-D2 ripoff? As the ONLY featured character?

I'm hoping either there are alternate covers at different locations (giving me a pick from a number of likely-better options), or that, like the Marvel movies, the 3-D version has a better cover-- so WORST case scenario, I just pay five dollars more for a better piece of cover artwork.
