Yesterday,
Star Wars 7 News reported that a theater owner had told them the trailer for J.J. Abrams'
Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be attached to
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. And then a person on twitter, Reece Steel, said he spoke with the film's first assistant. Reece tweeted, "Had a talk from
Thomas Gormley today, when asked about the teaser trailer for
Star Wars VII he said, “You might wanna go see
The Hobbit.” Not only was that tweet quickly deleted but so was the entire twitter account, which was created in 2012 and had over 4,000 tweets.
Today, a source for
Slash Film has provided them with an interesting update.
Well, we’ve heard from a very credible source that, with 100% certainty, the Star Wars 7 trailer won’t debut with Peter Jackson’s latest The Hobbit film. There’s a very strong likelihood it will play with that film but according to the source, Disney has “bigger plans” for the trailer debut than a simple attachment.
No further details were given. What could these "bigger plans" be? Will
Disney premiere the trailer with
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or their new animated series
Star Wars Rebels? Where do you think the
Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer will premiere?
Star Wars: Episode VII - Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. It's being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on
December 18, 2015.
