It's official - the brand new trailer for Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi will debut at halftime during ESPN’s Monday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, which kicks off at at 5: 15 p.m. PST / 8: 15 p.m.

In anticipation, Lucasfilm has released a couple of teasers which contain brief, but tantalizing glimpses of new footage.

The first features Rey training with her lightsaber, and we also get a cool shot of the burgeoning Jedi handing the weapon to Luke Skywalker. The GMA clip then gives us a look at a sinister gloved hand (presumably Kylo Ren's) reaching for his own devastating laser sword.

Check 'em out below, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section.

@SuperCat -
White people dancing. LOL!
I did see Boyega taking it to a Carnivale chick in some Instagram video. The feminists tried to come after him.

I hope they don't do something stupid with Luke's arc. Mark Hamill hasn't seemed too pleased.

@MosquitoFarmer - He doesn't seem too pleased with anything Star Wars these days.

@Nightwing1015 - he has a point. Most people who were clamoring for a sequel trilogy wanted to see the old cast reunited, and they wanted to see Luke as a Jedi master, not as another Obi-Wan. Not only did they deliberately keep the old cast largely separated, but they've made Luke into a failure. I can only hope Mark and Carrie share some meaningful scenes in this next film.

@MosquitoFarmer - They already did something stupid in a Force Awaken. He was no where to correct his problem of failing Kylo Ren and let that man destroy 5 planets and kill billions and he was still on a paradise island to himself. That is a person who don't care about people and he suppose to be a Jedi.

@gmoney0505 - If he turns to the dark side, especially by Kylo's influence, oh boy...

@DerekLake - Yeah, I completely agree with him. The new films aren't really that great. Even if I enjoyed them I'd still admire him for speaking his mind despite the best efforts of the producers to shut him up.

@Nightwing1015 -
He knows Abrams and Kennedy are nostalgia hacks who ruined the legacies of the original characters.

@MosquitoFarmer - that wld be too legit. But i think only thing like that that cld happen would be Rey turning to the Dark Side.

Nit i doubt disney has the balls for that.

@Batman5 - I'm just basing off of Hamill's comments that he fundamentally disagrees with pretty much every choice they made for Luke in this movie. His going to the dark side would be both cool, but also very disappointing for a number of reasons.
