Love it or hate it, Star Wars: The Last Jedi added a lot to the franchise, and helped shake things up after the familiarity of The Force Awakens (which was widely described as A New Hope knock-off).

Regardless of the controversial decisions made by writer and director Rian Johnson, it's a movie fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away still debate to this very day. Visually, it's probably the most unique instalment in the Skywalker Saga, and the filmmaker has now shared some very cool behind the scenes photos.

A couple of them are just really good fun as we see the aftermath of Supreme Leader Snoke being sliced in half - including Andy Serkis' response - but the highlight here has to be a never before seen shot of Carrie Fisher's General Leia Organa.

As you can see, the beloved and iconic actress is shown pointing a blaster at the camera as her co-star Oscar Isaac laughs beside her. It's a fantastic piece of imagery, and one that arguably sums Fisher up to a tee. Unfortunately, Fisher was unable to return for The Rise of Skywalker, and archive footage was used to include her in the franchise's final chapter.

Hopefully people now realize that The Last Jedi was the best of the new trilogy. It at least tried to point the series into a new direction rather than going back and exploring a time period that has been milked of all its green goo.
