Nicolas Wright and James A. Woods are said to be in "final negotiations" to write the first of a trilogy of Stargate films, accordingn to The Hollywood Reporter. Roland Emmerich is expected to direct it. He previously directed the 1994 film that kicked off the franchise. Dean Devlin will produce. He originally co-wrote the 1994 film.
Writer and Woods recently worked on Devlin and Emmerich's Independence Day 2, and clearly left a good enough impression to be hired to work on their next project.
