Deadline reports that Alphas has been cancelled by SyFy after two seasons. The series focused on a team of seemingly ordinary people who possessed extraordinary mental skills. "Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season,", the network said in a statement released online earlier today. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support." The series was created by Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Karnow (The Chevy Chase Show) but failed to ever really find an audience - as the second season launched to only 1.7 million viewers last July. Were you a fan of Alphas?

this really was a decent all around good show. It had great ...well
everything!
with all of the reality show drivel on now..for example house wives of new York that I can't get my girlfriend to stop watching or freaking honey boo boo..why do i find it hard to believe that a show like this has
a hard time to find an audience ...son of a..how is this station even
still around?

Im officially done with SyFy. Its the effin worst channel ever in my book. First SG-Universe and now Alphas. I will never watch another show on the channel again. Even if it looks good I will refuse to watch because they will cancle it. Cant believe more people watch Warehouse thirteen than alphas or SGU. This really pisses me off. Damn you Summer, love you but I have to believe in the curse now.

SyFy, and Fox kill good shows. In two seasons Alphas had stronger writing than all seasons of Warehouse 13... Although latest season wasnt bad. And SGU broke stargate's stale formula and made space exploration feel mysterious and interesting again.

I was a big fan of Alphas and couldn't wait for its return. I'm sick of getting caught up in shows just to see them end unresolved. No wonder reality shows are becoming so popular. Sorry SyFy you blew it with this one. You're dead to me!

This is some bullshit. Ever since sci fi became syfy they lost touch with everything that made them good. Don't watch syfy channel unless you want to watch a bunch of scripted reality series, wrestling, or the next taranchula-saurus movie of the week.

Once again Syfy Channel shows how much they suck. I knew I shouldn't get into a show on SyFy and again they [frick] their fans. I guess they want to put more reality tv shows on....how about Jersey Shore???? When they took off Farscape, I swore never again...then I liked Stargate Universe...then I swore never again...now Alphas....why even bother. I hope they go out of business.

I checked this show out when Laura Vandervoort was on, it seemed like a solid show but I didnt want to bother getting into it. Syfy should be ashamed of itself. It sold out its entire network as we knew it. You can't expect ANYTHING to succeed on Syfy. Thats why the Booster Gold show being prepped for it doesn't stand a chance because it doesn't matter how PERFECT it could be, it won't matter. Syfy won't back it if things get tough.

Hey that is the SyFy channel for ya. Cancel a show when it gets good. The only show they stuck with for the long haul was Stargate SG-1. Wish they would do a Buck Rodgers series like the old 70's one. Make it cheesy like the 70's one and have Bruce Campbell be Buck.

With all due respect to Bruce Miller and Eureka, which I absolutely loved, this is what happens when Syfy once again does the showrunner shuffle. Ira Stephen Behr seriously upped Alpha's quality throughout the first season's run, putting it on the network's map and setting the series up for some great storytelling possibilities.

So, of course, he gets replaced. Oh, Syfy logic. You slay me

I couldn't get past the first few episodes in spite of REALLY strong writing. The main reason being that the series was supposed to take place in NYC, and they didn't get NYC personalities, styles, or locations right AT ALL. Plenty of other series tape OUTside of NYC yet still get those things right...but it's sad when the version of NYC that's more realistic than YOUR show is the version from Friends. (And, btw, I can say the same for Amazing Spider-Man too. It's like NObody involved w/that movie had ever even been to NYC.)
