THE DIVERGENT SERIES: INSURGENT Gets A Pretty Cool New Trailer

I don't think anyone would hail Divergent as a sci-fi masterpiece (though I do feel it's somewhat underrated), but everything we've seen from the follow up movie looks to be a big improvement. Check out this visually stunning new trailer and see if you agree...

The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent stars Shailene Woodley as Beatrice "Tris" Prior, Theo James as Tobias "Four" Eaton, Ansel Elgort as Caleb Prior, Ray Stevenson as Marcus Eaton, Kate Winslet as Jeanine Matthews, Naomi Watts as Evelyn Johnson-Eaton, Octavia Spencer as Johanna Reyes, Zoë Kravitz as Christina, Maggie Q as Tori Wu, Jai Courtney as Eric, Miles Teller as Peter Hayes, Mekhi Phifer as Max, Keiynan Lonsdale as Uriah Pedrad, Suki Waterhouse as Marlene, Rosa Salazar as Lynn, Ashley Judd as Natalie Prior, Daniel Dae Kim as Jack Kang, Emjay Anthony as Hector and Jonny Weston as Edgar. The hits theaters March 20, 2015.

Unfortunatelty I read the books. They are not great but I swear I have not seen anything in the recent trailers that resembled what happens in the second book?

That's probably a good thing, the second was the worst of them all...

I like Shailene Woodley. She's definitely talented and capable of leading a film, but... wtf was that? Was that supposed to get people excited for this movie? To borrow from Cinema Sins- "THINGS!!! EXCITEMENT!!!! POINTLESS BLAND CGI!!!!" No Thanks.

That boyish haircut does not look flattering on Woodley. They should have stuck with the longer style from the first movie, or at least some variation of it.

What is with this short hair look women are doing now? Also, considering they were all on the run at the end of the first movie, when did she have time to visit the salon to get that chic haircut? Another in a long line of mediocre shitty dystopian themed movies.

The haircut is symbolic and representative of her metamorphosis since the first movie...

This looks almost as bad as the first one. Don't do the novels justice. Typical Hunger Games rip-off.

[frick] this comments, I think this movies are better then the Hunger Games.

""THINGS!!! EXCITEMENT!!!! POINTLESS BLAND CGI!!!!" No Thanks."
Am pretty sure that's what they were going for, they want to excite people about this movie. As far as the CGI, I thought it was well done and looked pretty cool.

I just wish all these YA movies would go away. They are all so cliche and annoying.

I mean Hunger Games is ok, but I'll never understand why Katniss is so protective of Peeta. Who gives a [frick] about Peeta?

@Omegacron - They desperately wanted her to have her long locks back through extensions but Woodley flat out refused. She's too young and poor to act like a DIVA... her career will burn out fast if she doesn't take her directors seriously.

shite trailer. shite movie.

@HAILHYDRA

it's insecurity that katniss has. she thinks peeta is stronger than her and way more of a natural leader. she saw herself as one step from falling apart while peeta seemed to handle it all pretty well.

is the YA genre that bad? mortal instruments and percy jackson were meh. twilight aweful. but i love hunger games. not sure why everyone compares this to battle royale. battle royale wasn't the first death games story. the only similarity to me is they are children. divergent was boring but i think it might go somewhere decent and the maze runner was pretty ok too.
