So what is in the photo? (spoilers which will be revealed in the trailer follow) Sam Worthington plays Jake Sully a paraplegic war veteran, who gets the opportunity to travel to another planet, Pandora, to work with a mining operation. Because the planet is so harsh, traditional armor and envirosuit solutions are not good enough to protect miners, and a clone program has developed in which DNA from humans and Na’vi, the natives that inhabit Pandora, are combined. The result is essentially a cloned Na’vi that can house the consciousness of an individual with human DNA. This means that Jake will be able to walk again. The photo above shows Sully in front of the tank that houses his Avatar.

20th Century Fox will be holding a special preview of 15-minutes of Avatar on August 21st, in an event called Avatar Day. Click here to read more. Avatar is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18th 2009.

I know that this doesnt exactly have to do with comic books, but it has Sam Worthington and everyone loves him for parts

Cameron is awesome with Sci-fi movies, he needs to stick with them. Titanic was a big Titanic bore except for the sinking of the ship and that was only on-screen for a very short time. As far as love stories go that was the most contrived silly romance movie I've ever seen!

But this film looks to be amazing! Alien worlds are so-o-o cool!

Haha this movie is on sucha low low it's amazing I truely can't wait as December 18th is the day my fall semester ends at school gahh anyone else going to film school

I've never gone to film school but I should've. But I've been to a number of scriptwritng workshops and seminars. If that counts at all. All I know is I truly love movies and writing them.

Keep on with it, man! It's tough but it's worth it in the end!

Now this is a movie that Sam Worthington fits, playing a modern day soldier, not one from the 40's like in Cap America!

This movie looks amazing, Cameron is so good with Sci-fi movies it ain't funny! It's gonna be fantastic!

@ LEE What! Sam Worthington IS the next big thing. He practically out acted Christian Bale in Terminator. Avatar is gonna blow Sam up like Titanic did with Leo. Even though Leo had done some movies before Titanic, he didn't become the big star that he is now after Titanic.
