According to Deadline, The UK’s ITV Studios will team with New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures and Weta Workshop to co-produce Thunderbirds Are Go!, a reboot of the classic 1965 tv series. Apparently twenty-six half hour episodes have been ordered for air on ITV and CITV in the UK in 2015. The show - who's creator Gerry Anderson passed away last December - ran for just two seasons but became something of an international sensation, even spawning a live action movie starring Ben Kingsley in 2004. “Thunderbirds is a highly respected brand that continues to hold recognition around the world," said ITV’s Denise O Donoghue today. "This cult series is often credited as changing the history of animation and action-adventure, and we look forward to taking the show to another level while retaining the much-loved heritage that has endured over the past fifty years.”
