New Orleans is currently doubling for San Francisco as director Matt Reeves continues shooting Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Superhero Hype has some pictures which show just how much the city has changed since the events of the last movie. As you can see, it's very much overgrown and derelict since the majority of humans were wiped out as a result of a virus which meant that Caesar and his band of apes were able to take control. How do you guys feel about the way this movie is shaping up so far? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts below and remember that more photos can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.
UPDATE: We now have a slightly better look at the city (via _itskaitlynbitch and @Broomhauer) as well as an image which may give us a better idea of the human resistance (via @Dawknesss) towards the apes; who or what are the "Human Nation"? Also below is a video taken of the set.
Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. The movie is set for release on Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd, 2014.
