In the near future, a hostile alien race have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham, all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin, a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distiguising himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Ender's Game stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin and Viola Davis. The film is set to hit theaters November 1st this year.

Hopefully the Gavin Hood who made Tsotsi turns up not the one who made Origins. Love this book despite being written by He who must not be named, especially after recent controversy.

One of my friends is gay and the dude loves Enders Game, doesn't care much about Orson Scott Cards opinions but loves the book. So I hope this whole controversy kinda goes away at least until the movies been released. So gay folk don't boycott this movie or threaten to burn down theaters and shit. But feel free to do it after the movies been release or until I have seen it (Yes I do realise that this is a bit of ass hole like comment)

sounds like techno Harry potter set in the future

I'm not going to judge now because I liked Harry potter for the most part but the last 2 sucked.

this could be a good movie that teaches morals and lessons about war and peace or it could be Harry twilight and the teen angst of space school

@ElApe: Words are important. Star Wars could be described as, "farm boy gets trained by old man into old mysticism to blow up mechanical ball." Blade Runner could be, "a detective chases illegal robots that just look like people through a rainy city." Blech!

"distiguising"?!?!? Is that legal in a kid's film?

@CampBlood
Read the book, it's nothing like that second thing you described. It's an excellent sci-fi book and will (hopefully) make an awesome movie.

I don't agree with Card's beliefs. But I'm not going to react extremely to them. I kinda think any extreme reaction I let him provoke out of me with those beliefs means in some way he wins. SO he can spout all he likes. He'll be spitting into the wind.

But I like his writing. Especially on the first books of a series he starts. I have wanted to see this as a movie for a long time.
