Walton Goggins to Battle Predators

More light is finally being shed on the Predators casting.

Progress has been very quiet for Roert Rodriguez's Predators with Nimrod Antal set to direct. Although 20th Century has set a release date for July 7, 2010, there also hasn't been much casting news (until now) besides the ubiquitous Danny Trejo playing the role of a Rambo-like luchador named "Cuchillo".

ComingSoon.net has heard word that one of Rodriguez's cast will be none other than Walton Goggins, star of the FX series "The Shield." (Who is this guy? I have never even heard of the T.V. show).

Unfourtunatley thee hasn't been any information on his specific role. Either way we are to expect more casting news on the movie in the weeks to come.

There is also a rumor floating around that Michael Jay White who is famous for Spawn will also be in the movie.

JFYI: Royce is under the surveillance of a Predator. He is snatched up and taken to the jungles of the Predator’s home world along with seven others. These aren’t your ordinary people being abducted. These eight are the most highly noted killers on the face of the Earth.

Danny Trejo is said to be playing a drug cartel named Cuchillo with double Uzis he straps to his back. Other characters include a Russian named Nikolai with a rotary machine gun, a French woman named Isabelle with a sniper rifle, Stans, a prisoner from San Quentin, Mombasa, an African leader in the Sierra Leone squad, a Japanese yakuza enforcer named Hanzo and a FBI wanted criminal named Edwin. There is no world who Royce is – but from the description of him just killing someone and then being abducted.

Will this bunch be enough to get rid of the Predator Dogs, Predator Falcons and The Black Super Predator? Will this T.V. show actor have the skills to pull this one off? Will this movie live up to its name? only time will tell.

ROCK ON!!!

"(Who is this guy? I have never even heard of the T.V. show)"

Is that a joke?No way could you not have heard of The Shield. It ties with The Wire as best show in the history of mankind.

I really like Michael Jai White. You don't get to see enough of him on the big screen. They really need alot of athletic actors.Martial artists, perhaps?

Never heard of the Shield??? Do yourself a favor and go rent, or better yet buy every f**king season. The best police show ever on tv next to Hill Street Blues, you probably never heard of that one neither. Youth really is wasted on the young!

Yeah The Shield is the best show ever. I am the biggest fan of it on the planet. I literally watch it from season 1 to season 7 non-stop. Once I finish the finale I start over again. It is the best show ever made. And Walton Goggins is an amazing actor. They could not have picked a better actor to play Shane Vendrell. Just awesome.

Side note: you can always check IMDB if you don't know what a guy has been in.

M.J.White? Are you serious? The guy is horrible. He did a horrible job at spawn and the A.I. thing in Universal Soldier. Megan Fox is a better actor and better eye candy on the screen. Cover white up and make him a Power Rangers extra with no lines. Like one of the puddies?

Not a big fan of the Shield so no thoughts on that guy. Just hope the movie is good.

@Tea - Don't use the bad acting rep. White plays cool characters that don't suit your intellectual needs!

@ minotauto

i don't think he's the greatest actor either. and he was onscreen in TDK for what, 3 minutes total? just because someone says they don't like a certain actor has nothing to do with that person's "intellectual needs"
