Writer Hired For Live-Action BEN 10 Adaptation

Up-and-coming Rampage scribe Ryan Engle has been brought in to work on Ben 10, Silver Pictures’ big-screen take on the hugely popular Cartoon Network franchise about a boy who can transform into 10 different monsters thanks to an alien watch.

We heard some time ago that Joel Silver - producer of, among many others things, Sherlock Holmes, V For Vendetta, and the Matrix trilogy - had signed on to develop a live-action feature film based on Cartoon Network's Ben 10 sci-fi franchise, with an eye toward distribution through Warner Bros. The show's creator gave us an update a while ago, but aside from that all had been quiet since. But now THR report that the movie has a new writer - Ryan Engle, who is also working on New Line’s adaptation of the Rampage video game and New Regency’s The New West, which is based on a comic from Black Bull Media. Engle will work off of the script by Albert Torres (Henry Poole Is Here).

Sounds interesting. I might just watch it if the trailers are good.

Another Ben 10 Live action movie?
The first live action film for TV was terrible, why now another?
I don't understand Hollywood, why they want to bring every animated series to big screen?

@BlackMax88 those were horrible because they were tv movies. Most all TV movies suck.

I think this might turn out well.

BECAUSE NO ONE ASKED FOR IT!!!

Well, besides the studio execs who want to milk it for cash.

I bet Michael Bay wants his hands on this film because you know he likes ruining childhood memories.

Ben 10 is so two years ago - ask any kid under eight, and they'll be all about Ninjago now.

Too late.

They've been milking the Ben 10 franchise since Alien Force. I just stopped watching after a while. Then came Ultimate Alien, and Omniverse.... Who knows what's next?! Point is, it's lost it's charm. I would rather see this franchise die than to have a film.

I loved the original Ben 10 tv show. all the ones after that were shit though. I think a movie would be awesome if done right. The TV movies were kind of crappy except for Lee Majors as Grandpa Max, I liked that.

How the [frick] is WB going to justify doing a movie about a damn cartoon that has only been around a few years, but they can not get out any other main DC characters??!

Yea I watched it alot when I was younger (the original) all the rest following that were poop. Poop animation, poop storylines and poop character development plus the concept simply lost it's appeal. I think this new movie would be rad though....i think....
