SHAZAM! And AQUAMAN Costumes On Display At Comic-Con Reveal Another New Suit Of Armor For Arthur Curry

Costumes from Shazam! and Aquaman have been put on display at Comic-Con and in the case of the latter, we get to see a brand new suit belonging to Arthur Curry! Is this the hero's gladiator armour?

With Marvel Studios choosing to sit out Comic-Con this year, there's a very strong chance Aquaman and Shazam! will be able to steal the show. That's going to be a big win for Warner Bros. given their difficult 2017 with the DCEU and with no Captain Marvel or Avengers 4 props on the show floor, the two DC Comics adaptations have been able to steal the spotlight by showing off some cool costumes.

For starters, we have the ones which will be worn by Shazam and Billy Batson in Shazam!, while Mera is given the spotlight for Aquaman alongside a never before seen battle armour for Arthur Curry.

That could be the gladiator armour he has to
don to do battle with his brother Orm and it certainly points to Jason Momoa having to wear a very unique looking helmet for at least some of the James Wan helmed release. So, to see these photos, all you have to do is click on the "View List" button.

Minus the glowing effects, here we get to see Shazam's comic accurate costume and there's no denying that it does the source material justice. It is, however, pretty interesting that it looks a lot less "inflated" than when Zachary Levin wears it but still looks perfectly fine. That begs the question of why Warner Bros. felt it was necessary to make Shazam look so bulked up in the movie.

That cape has been torn straight out of the comic books and while it could have very easily looked silly in live-action, the end result definitely works. Whether or not he'll don the hood remains to be seen.

Mera's suit is gloriously detailed and a big improvement over the one she wore in Justice League. The colours really pop and Amber Heard looks fantastic in it. It's a shame she didn't get more screentime in the superhero ensemble, especially as it was initially reported that she would have a key role in the movie and quite possibly fight alongside the team. Here's hoping Aquaman redeems her!

Well, this is something new. As you can see, it appears as if Arthur Curry is going to don a makeshift suit of some sort during the course of the movie, including a pretty ancient looking helmet. Seeing as it's been placed over his regular clothes, could this armour be from that gladiator battle we know he has with Orm in front of an active volcano? That certainly appears to be a very likely possibility.

Chances are Arthur won't be wearing this armour for long, especially as we know he'll ultimately end up wearing the classic green and yellow suit from the comic books upon becoming Atlantis' King.
